Game day pro’s are goated for me. These have literally brought my feet back to life. I’m ordering the regular ones for everyday wear as well. The vktry’s messed up my Achilles with the rubbery feel and stiff carbon fiber but the flexibility of the pros helped a lot. I am also flat footed so idk if that made a difference with the high arch of the pros.
@KarlMusic2 жыл бұрын
I have been considering the VKTRY and Game Day Pros. Do you think I should just go for game day pro?
@anthonyquinonez1592 жыл бұрын
@@KarlMusic it just depends. For me the full length carbon fiber and the material that the VKTRY gold insoles were too much. It caused strains on both my Achilles. Literally had to go get a deep muscle massage and cup session to loosen up whatever irritated my feet. Once I purchased the game day pro’s that problem went away. Now the pros are broken in and they’re money for me. I use the insoles to hoop in. I typically wear them for 2-3 hours. I think the insoles are one of the reasons why I’m able to play for that long and be capable of doing it all over again the next day.

I get the game day insoles for my 16 year old boys for basketball shoes, football cleats, running shoes (training shoes, not racing flats or spikes) and everyday shoes that don't have much support. I've also gotten them the superfeet greens, but they prefer the move game days. One has really flat feet, and the other has really high arches and wide feet, but the game days offer enough support to keep their feet from hurting, which is what happens without proper insoles
@sl2608 Жыл бұрын
I have to give high praise to an insert you didn't mention, Spenco Total Support Max, best I've ever worn -- and I wore Powerstep Pinnacle and Pinnacle Maxx for years, but no more. If you have Peroneal Tendonitis, it is hard to find an insole that does not put more pressure on the lateral part of the foot, all along the peroneal tendon area along the outside of my foot and underneath the outer foot. Powersteps helped when I had Plantar Fasciitis, but gave no relief for my Peroneal Tendondits and actually made it more painful. Spenco Total Support Max gave me relief, thank God. Finally. I've suffered with this for over a year and kept thinking it could not be the inserts, but it was. They were making it worse. I didn't realize it until a podiatrist told me to try the Spenco. Instant relief, after 14 months of pain. The deep heel cup cradles the outer foot instead of pressuring it like Powersteps.

I play tennis, squash and pickleball. A while back, probably a year+ now, the PPA was running Ads for this orthotic brand Zelus, so I decided to try them out. I have their Pro and Sport models. The Pro's are fantastic, very supportive. I am notorious now for having turf/tennis toe on my big toe on my right foot ( I am a right handed player), and some ball of foot pain off and on on the right foot as well. These Pro models alleviated that right away and are very comfy, they have these rubber like cupped cells underneath your forefoot and heel. Though the downside is they are a bit bulky and slightly hefty and will change the fit/feel of your shoe, unless if you go a 1/2 size up and then use them to help fill that little bit of extra space, it seems to work out nicely. The Sport models are also great, comfy with decent support, I don't feel much of the tennis toe/ball of foot ache/pain in them, but it's not as great as the Pro's as the amount of the cupped cells are smaller areas and more limited. The benefit of the Sport's though is they are a little slimmer/thinner profile, so they won't mess with your shoe fit. Would love to hear your thoughts on them - Zelus Insoles. I can't paste a link in a comment or KZbin deletes my comment for whatever reason. Now having said that, I just came across these older videos of yours, and first I've heard of these Move insoles, I am tempted to try out the Gameday Pro's because I want great support and the performance aspect for these dynamic moving sports, but with not as much of a bulk or heft. Thanks!

I have to agree on the Powerstep being a great value. Although they are not meant to be cut (with a plastic plate), I use a dremel to cut this to match my insole exactly. If I have to put some glue in at some point, so be it. The insight from Footprint was that if you don’t trim insoles for exact match to original, they catch on the sides of shoe and affect performance. Although I’m not staying with FP, that tip alone was worth the price of a set of their insoles for me.

Dr. Zach Thank you for the video and recommendations but I need to say that the Powerstep offer great support but they don't last at all. I'm a tennis player and they only last me about a month and a half. The top fabric and top foam starts falling apart pretty quickly getting holes in the pressure points. Usually a pair of shoes last me about 4-6 months, so I would have to use 3 pairs in the life of one shoe and they are pretty expensive at $40 a pair.

Hello Zach, thanks for a great video. I have two questions. The first one is about the PowerSteps, you mention "PowerStep Pinnacle Max" in the video several times, but what you show is in fact the standard PowerStep Pinnacle insole. You also link to the standard one. Can you explain this? And the other question, I've got the Move Game Day Pros and they are very good, but after a couple of hours they got really flattened out in the ball of foot area. They're like 1mm thick there and almost rock hard. The balls of my feet have been hurting lately because of that. Can you recommend an insole that will have a similar arch support as the Game Day Pros, but better (more durable) forefoot cushioning? Will the PowerStep Pinnacle (Max) be better in that aspect? Thank you

No over the counter will have great forefoot cushion besides the king foams , that’s more a feature of custom orthotics - pinnacle and pinnacle max are pretty much the same except for the heel shape so a lot of times I use them interchangeably

The footprint “King Foam” insoles are initially exceptional. But the springy foam becomes highly compressed quickly. I bought the elite and the simple flat. The simple flat were 3mm and werenever springy at all. The Elite lasted less than two months with about 4-6 hrs tennis per week. I’m having much better longevity from the Aetrex sport insoles. They are more bouncy, but they stay that way, versus going flat. Lastly, ordering (and receiving) the fp insoles was a complete hassle. I’m not going into it, just suffice it to say I told you so if you have problems.I’m not doing any more business with fp insoles.

Hi Dr. Zach. I'm going with your NB Two Wxy V4 suggestion for Pickleball (will pass on my experience). I plan to replace the insoles. Do you have any experience with the "10 Second 3810 Ultra Arch Support" (previously the NB "Ultra Support 3819")??? They seem to check all the boxes for features you suggest looking for. Also, re: price performance, they are available in Canada for a few dollars less that the PowerStep Pinnacle Max ($67 vs. $71 & up). To get the Power Step Game Day Pro I'd be into $140 cdn. Your comments on the Footprint King Foam Elite got me thinking about the wisdom of putting an orthotic with a rigid footbed on top of the the shank of the Two Wxy V4. As per your review, that robust shank is an important design element, contributing quite a bit to the shoe's overall performance? Might and additional advantage of the "King Foam" be that it provides the needed support without disturbing the ability to get the most out of the shank? Certainly a wild guess on my part but seems to have some logic to it. When considering orthotics the focus is on how the features of the orthotic interact with the structure of the foot, to positive effect. In use, the performance in the application becomes a function of how an entire system (foot/orthotic insole/shoe) works. Might there also be important considerations in how the characteristics of the orthotic interact with the design elements of any given shoe? Just a thought :) al
