I had an LG french door frig that failed three months before the warranty was over. They sent a repair guy who worked on it for 3 hours and finally gave up and finally ordered a new compressor; he stated it was leaking freon. Three weeks later he installed the new compressor and guess what, it still leaked. He leak checked the frig for three hours and finally gave up. He stated the leak was somewhere in the freon distribution in the body of the fridge and couldn't fix it without disassembling it entirely thus it was unrepairable. I spent the next five months fighting with LG to replace the fridge but they stalled by slowly escalating my problem through three levels of "customer service". I finally gave up having wasted nine months of time with LG. The bottom line is, DO NOT PURCHASE LG, THEY WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WARRANTY!

Welcome to the victim pool of LG. Just google the lawsuits against LG. I had my 3 month old tin can removed and bought another brand. The fridge is less than a year old and the ice machine doesn't work or the water dispenser. After researching LG, I'm just throwing it away!

a salesman told me that it's better to have an icemaker in the door as opposed to in the fridge body (inside). He said it had to do with warm air floating around inside of fridge can cause the ice to melt a little , whereas in the door it has dedicated vents to keep it colder. I don't know, but our 4-door Samsung is old (9 years?) looks like it came right out of the box, and works spectacularly well! Our ice maker is in the door, by the way. With all our Texas storms with lightning and power outages, we've worried when we get hit with an insane storm, and nope... Our Samsung is a freight train beast!! Does anyone remember how to switch the second freezer to refrigerator mode? 🤭😆😁 Need it for family gatherings during Thanksgiving and Christmas! 😂❤

I will never buy another Samsung. That doggone ice dispenser is useless. The way they engineered the water tube for the ice means it freezes up and you have to defrost it regularly to get it to work again, only for it to happen over and over. The solution, since Samsung has ignored every inquiry I’ve made is to disable the function entirely and buy a tabletop ice maker. USELESS!!!! I will never buy another appliance from them again. Customer service is completely silent. See all the KZbin videos about this complaint, there are many to view.

You are correct. I was mailed a form for a class action lawsuit. They sent me $300. LG is the worst company for fixing issues. A component of the lawsuit is it takes over 10 days just to get a technician to come. Our compressor went out 3 times in 2 years. Then a non-LG repair person was called by LG and we never had an issue until it started leaking in the back after 6 years and ruined our hardwood floor, which we now have to repair.

Had 2022 LG and compressor failed after two years, but despite the compressor being under warranty, LG customer service is a nightmare. And if your compressor fails, wait and wait and wait for the inventory compressor.
