Love the content you guys bring. While I was in the Navy in 2010 we go a chance to have a port call in Scotland. While touring Stirling Castle they were holding a scotch tasting in the gift shop and I found that I also really enjoyed Edradour 10 year. Needless to say I didn't leave there empty handed.

Ohh guys gotta say that was a brilliant video, talk about LFMAO at poor Trentons reactions to most of those. Clearly some scotches don’t appeal to the younger generations palates. I have to say, I went on a trip to Scotland with my folks when I was younger, early to mid 20’s and my dad and I tried many whiskies in a bar in the top North Of Scotland and I couldn’t come to grips with his love of them at all. Now 25 years down the road well I cannot get enough of them. Absolutely love the Speyside area of whiskies and I’ll keep on asking you Kurt please do a video of your best favourite Speyside’s. Glenallachie I know is up there obviously but there are some other super drams coming out of that area ….. loved that video fellas…. Priceless!😂

The first time I had Ardbeg 10 my bourbon journey pretty much ended. I haven’t had an Islay I haven’t liked yet. Ardbeg anything is amazing. Laphroaig is great also. Trying to find Ledaig 10. Uigeadail is definitely my favorite so far.

Oh my what an amazing list. I absolutely love Edradour such a small farm distillery that also own Signatory’s independent bottler. Very unique and special is the best thing I can call it. Arran Ten is so beautifully honey and floral excited to try other’s in the Arran line. Trying to track down an 18. If you enjoy that and haven’t had the fortune to try the James MacTaggert it’s well worth tracking down. Tamdhu- Is such a great Holiday Whiskey. Such a Sherry Bomb. Phil’s notes are so on point for that. Kilchoman- is so good. Speechless and they keep getting better. They started out a bit inconsistent but have really been hitting the spot for me. Haven’t had the fortune to try the Glenallachie 15 but the batch Strength 10 year ones are so good. I’m gunna add one for my other Scotch lovers. Laphroaig’s Batch 14 10 year old Cask Strength is really really good this year worth grabbing. I’m excited to maybe see an Irish list one year. Absolutely love the Scotch content and it’s crazy how much more Scotch is affordable for me compared to the awesome bourbons/rye’s. One day Trenton trying all the types of peated whiskey would be funny.

Such a great Father/Son presentation and full of humour with bourbon drinker vs. Scotch drinker. Portonova is at the top of my world whiskies . My palate does not get ant comparison with Kilchoman Loch Gorm to Ardbeg Uiegedail as these flavor profiles are worlds apart but by far the top of the top peated whiskies is Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength and there is no comparison on mother Earth to this peated whisky at any price!

Solid list! Love me some Kilchoman and Loch Gorm is a goood dram. I would suggest the Kilchoman Sanaig at $67 for those wanting a great affordable Sherry\Peat combo. As fror the Glenallechie 18 I can't see it being 3x as good as the 12yr @ $65. Still need to try a Tamdhu. Great video guys! Keep it up! Note to Trenton: I was about 4yr into my whiskey journey before I could appreciate Peated Scotch so don't feel bad...

Trenton's reactions to the sips of Scotch reminds me of when we were kids and Mom would give us a cough syrup when we had a cold that tasted like cherry and Listerine. I must admit that I am mostly ignorant of single malt scotches but plan to do some learning and tasting to get some knowledge of those whiskys. I do have a bottle of Japanese single malt whisky that I like and I have been told it is very similar to scotch.

Trenton, if you are not a fan of Single Malt Scotch traditional flavors, give Tullibardine Artisan or 12YO Double Wood: The Artisan is first fill ex-bourbon casks with soft vanilla and sweet barley notes. Retails for $30. The 12YO Double Wood is a new LTO that spends 12 years in first fill ex -Bourbon casks and then 14 months in Oloroso casks. Super smooth and has a lot of great flavors golden raisins , vanilla, chocolate, oak. Only $50/bottle Enjoy watching your guys videos and am a Knob Creek 9YO fan so will try a 12 and 15YO! WOW!! What a line up. Most of those are attainable to me with the exception of the GlennAllachie 18 year. I think Kurt would dig Benromach 10 year. For $40 to $50 it is super solid and depending on what you had to eat that day you can get different flavors each time. I would also say try Kilkerran 12 year.

This list rests firmly in the obscure whisky you're not likely to come across in a local liquor store, and for that, I wouldn't put them in a "best overall" type list. That being said, I would personally love to give a few of these a go! One thing I've wondered (and I know it can be a little contentious) is when doing tastes, and really trying to get an idea of the complexity of the Whisk(e)ys you guys try: Why are you not adding a few drops of water to open those bad boys up? 🥃

I have Arran 10-year in my collection. Watching this video got me in the mood for it, so I got into that bottle and poured some into a glass. It is an excellent whisky. I'm envious of the Amrut. I have a bottle of their entry level single malt, and I like it a lot. I would love to try some of their higher end offerings. My stock of single malts is full right now (I place strict limits on my collection to avoid letting it get out of hand), but maybe the next time I have room for one, I'll look for something good from Amrut. Or maybe I'll seek out the GlenAllachie - I'm tempted by that one too.

Trenton, it is crazy how your palate will change over the years. I was into Scotch well before I was into Bourbon and Rye. (Like in the 90s and 00s before whiskey was cool.) Somewhere along the line I realized that 1) I kept getting heartburn from Scotch and 2) I could go broke drinking good Scotch, while Rye was relatively cheap (when you could find it). And now I don't think I could go back - but I won't rule anything out. You can get a very acquired taste for that peat malt. But the way people now charge for Rye, I might need to find something else next. 🙂

Just watched Stuff and Whisky’s last video and then the first bottle you bring out was the bottle they tasted blind. Wild lmao.

I can't agree more on the GlenAlachie 18 being great. I picked up a bottle and it's fantastic. Not the same vintage, it was super dusty. I believe the code says it from 2018.

Fun show. I like everything Arran produces. The 18 is a regular go-to when I'm in the mood for Scotch. Have you tried their "light" Lochranza Reserve? A fine drop indeed! I've had the Kilchomon Loch Gorm and like Trenton, not my thing. I have a bottle of GlenAllachie 12yo 2006 Bourbon Cask, that's pretty special, and I wonder if Trenton might enjoy it. Happy Holidays friends!

Great list! Trenton needs to try multiple tastes of Loch Gorm, as you get acclimated to the peat, the other flavors come forward. If you only ever take 1 sip, you’ll only ever get that initial smoke burst. If you like Edradour and peated single malts, I recommend Ballechin.

Kurt...I have a Kilchoman aged in Mezcal Cask. Purchased at the distillery last year. I will be visiting family in June. Would love to crack that bottle with you. If that doesn't work then, when I decide to open that bottle, I will send you a pour. Cheers!

For me with the Edradour, the stand out taste note is the ”bitter almond”. I love this Scotch👍🏼

Trent, my thoughts exactly on peated scotches!

Peated scotch like Lagavulin 16 or Ardbeg Corryvreckin are what I would describe as "like drinking BBQ." Just the smell of a BBQ is enough for my mind to immediately associate with peated scotch. So it's a natural food pairing there, and if one enjoys a good BBQ that could be a way to get into this type of scotch exploration. Kurt did his best with the pie experiment, so maybe it's food for thought. Heh, see what I did there...

Someone's got to get Kurt a GlenAllachie Store pick. I have 2 and they are both cask strength and let me tell you, Amazing! Also, would be a fun experiemnt to have Trent eat some shortbread cookies before some of these scotches and see if that doesn't align his pallet better to malt whiskey. After all, he seemed to like the Jack Daniels Malt...
