In an attempt to implement shortcuts & “cheat the system” you essentially end up cheating yourself out of growth. Without having to go anywhere, the drives is cheating himself out of experience, visiting new places and meeting interesting people. What seemed a great idea at the start will eventually cost him more in morals, fees and fines when he is found out. Therefore, there no shortcuts and the truth always reveals itself at the end.
