For anyone cutting or dremelling carbon, please for the love of god wear a mask so you don't inhale carbon fiber. For real.

Yes.

Cutting carbon tubes: If you have a tile wet saw, even a cheap $50 one from Home Despot, they cut through carbon tubing like a hot knife through butter, and leave a pretty clean edge without fraying. The water keeps the dust trapped.

That's a handy tip.

I made a backer plate for our top tube bags too. I do not have a 3D printer, so I tried using a scrap of luan plywood with epoxy for my setup. I also coated it with epoxy. I also plastic welded one from a thick piece of pink plastic cut from a Barbie jeep pulled from the dump for my wife’s setup. I boxed one end to add ridigity…as you did. Both are holding up great.
@TroyOnTrails4 ай бұрын
That is awesome! I'm surprised how well the flat sheet of plastic backer board from my Lezyne pump is working. I have been using it instead of the 3-D printed one for a few months now.

I do bike touring with an e- bike. It’s interesting to see the different ideas for the different types of bikes in different types of biking. I saw your link in Reddit so that brought me here.

Nice. I have some ideas for some E-Bike content in the future. The idea of e-bikepacking is intriguing with a new level of challenges and opportunities.

I hate the term “Hacks” used my so many KZbinrs. They use the word wrong as the mostly are just showing tips and tricks. But I guess those titles don’t get the views. You on the other hand are actually showing hacks: modifying things to serve a new/unintended purpose. Well done!

Thanks. I'm working on a new hack video right now. It's a list of bike hacks using tape. Tape is the ultimate hackers tool.

Bonus hack has a better solution, camelback has some magnets that are for there bagpacks/tube and they clip nice on the straps of a feed bag so if you use 2 feed bags you have 2 straps to magnet them on and loop over your handelbar !
@TroyOnTrails7 ай бұрын
Definitely. Though I prefer the badge holder because I can just drop the house rather than line up the magnets.

Hack 1 get good seat wont ever need chaff cream the rest of the hacks are very good ps use a magnet for hose it works great
@TroyOnTrails7 ай бұрын
Every butt is different. Find what works for you. I prefer the badge holder as it allows me to just drop the hose. A magnet requires that little extra step to put the hose in the right spot.

Some of the higher quality bags you don't have to have a strap for I have a 7 try 7 stealth top tube bag on my bike that has a semi rigid shell it does not have to have any straps just two bolts in the top tube very clean

As it should be. Tailfin is the only bag I knew if that designed it correctly.

promoting single use plastic, buying brand new handle bar to trash a large proportion of it, cutting carbon fiber without proper safety methods, sorry friend, this is rather bodge for me
@TroyOnTrails8 ай бұрын
I'm always willing to learn. Beyond glasses and a mask, what are "propper safety methods" for carbon?
