This video should have correctly started in historical chronological order with George V and ended with Charles III. There is a photo of the 1905 Trooping with Edward VII and George V.

I rate King Charles highly for riding at 74. the Queen stopped riding (editi: at the ceremony, this was apparently not clear) when she was 59/60.

The Queen was riding well into old age. She never stopped really and took regular rided during the Lockdown too. She only stopped conducting the Trooping of the Colour by horseback in the 80's due to an assasination attempt (a young man tried to shoot her as he passed by him) that took place that year. Afterwards, she used a carriage. Don't make bogus comments if you know nothing about the topic.

@@richierich7229Edward VII was not a good father. He buIIied Eddie, his daughters were afraid of him and he was absent in his children lives, he neglected them. But people think he was good only because George described him so. George would never bash his parents despite that they both neglected him. Too bad George V's sons werent as discreet about their father

She rode side saddle (both legs to the left instead of one leg on each side of the horse)… It was common among women in her generation to learn to ride side saddle…. Nowdays almost noone does that

@@rickardnyberg4899 One factor is cause we don't have saddle manufacturers to support the use of side saddles. To get one new or repaired is rather expensive. Majority of people I (an equestrian) know that have ridden or still ride side saddle have to have an old saddle, sometimes more than 50 years old to ride. Plus if you aren't into "traditional-traditional" english disciplines, nobody talks about it, teaches it correctly ect.

He wasn't even there cuz he passed away in 2021, that clip was recent with Charles III riding a horse following by his son William, his brother Edward, Duke of Edinburgh and his sister Anne, Princess Royal then with a carriage carrying Camilla and Catherine with three young kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis

@@celineluvre6611 I agree with you that it was King Charles III . However, from a distance he does kind of resemble his late father Prince Philip. Perhaps that's the reason that others who've seen this video have said that it was Prince Philip and not King Charles III. I can understand their mistake.

@jurgenjung4302 Charles was pressured to marry Diana by his parents. He was already in his 30's and unmarried at the time. His parents didn't approve of another girl he had seen before and was truly in love with. That girl was Camilla Shand ( Charles's current wife )later Parker-Bowles when she married her first husband Andrew. So when Charles later was dating Diana he soon found that they really had nothing in common , but gave in to his parent's pressure to finally settle down and marry. While Charles and Diana were indeed incompatible his parents considered in the long run that Diana might become a good wife because she was from a good aristocratic family unlike Camilla. However, you know that the rest is history of what happened between Charles and Diana and then afterwards between Charles and Camilla.

In 1935, George V, was gravely ill and less than a year from his death. It was very courageous of him to have attended, riding and saluting.

@@MightieDuckie You know all those medals aren't for gallantry? Even ordinary military personnel get medals for serving during military anniversaries, they get long service medals, medals for military education qualifications.
