As an Indian Canadian, thank you for the recognition that the hot oil treatment is a common practice there. Growing up, my mom would often massage my scalp and hair with warm coconut oil.

Can you make a video for a minimalist curly hair routine? All of these products add up to be pretty expensive and if you could narrow it down to a few that would be awesome! You can even do a high end and a low end version (or a mix if you want to). It gets so confusing with all of the different products out there on what's necessary and what we could skip out on. Much thanks for everything you do!!!

Let me just say a HUGE thank YOU to you ladies for these educational videos. I have learned about curly hair even more which gave me to confidence to style my older seesters hair (which I have never seen curly in the past 13 years). I used all the techniques youve taught us and she loved how her hair turned out, she’s now styling her beautiful curls herself and I felt like a proud curl mom!! So thank you!!

The seesters are the reason why I survived finals this semester. Sounds funny, but you two make me laugh, which I desperately needed during this time. Also, the seesters helped me grow more confident and love my hair. I basically watched almost all of your KZbin videos and am looking forward to more texture Tuesday’s. Thank you so much. Happy holidays!

Your Barbie shirt when you're steaming your hair is THE BEST! I want one!! Also, steaming hair has been a game changer for me this year. It is basically how I get all my curls to fall down every morning after being in a bonnet at night. One question though: if I'm doing a different pre-poo treatment (like Curlsmith bonding salve), should I also do the oil? Or should those be on different wash days?

I live in a desert climate, and even though it's "winter" now, it's even drier than before (especially since ACs are still on all the time indoors)! Maybe the some of the same principles can apply, I always wondered why adding more water made my hair even frizzier.... I'm going to try some of these anyway and see how it goes

In California's Central Valley, we have a desert climate in the summer. Bone dry and triple-digit heat. However, in the winter it's cold (okay, 50 degrees F is cold to me) and foggy. I struggle with my hair in the winter because the humidity is higher.

@@axhas6956 Yeah. I only ever found one good one, by Curly Chelle. I remember someone asked Mell and she referred to her winter videos since that's when it's dry for her in the year. All I can say from personal experience is 1) shampoo frequently because of the sweat and dust from the heat 2) be careful with humectants, I try to look for products (specifically stylers) with low or no glycerin and instead i look for film-forming humectants like aloe vera, flax seed, mallow root, and proteins! 3) don't over-moisturize your hair, that will just make your hair even drier; consider using a light oil to seal ends and add shine 4) a hard hold gel can help a lot 5) style your hair in your bedroom, not your shower, that way you get a more accurate look at how your hair will look since its humid in the shower 6) never ever go outside with wet hair! air dry at home if you want, but going outside is asking for all the water in your hair to be immediately sucked out and give you frizz. That's all... and I'm still learning, my hair is in it's 2nd year being curly, so I'm still transitioning a little bit. It's harder to find good affordable products where I live moreso than actually do all the other steps (I'm not strictly CG, I still use sulfates and silicones, although rather sparingly). I hope it helped even a little!

I would try some heavy butters like shea butter on your mids and ends. I live in texas now so its super humid here most of the year, but i used to live in the mojave ... and i have always basically treated my hair like its an extension of my skin care. So if there is a specific ingredient that is helping your skin with the dryness, look for hair products with the same ingredient in it.

The smells are very strong at first but they don't last long so it is okay. I used the Thikk shampoo & conditioner and I have volume! First time ever. I live in a cold desert where we get hot summers with 5% humidity then cold winters with 10% humidity. I need all the moisture I can get. At least my hair is on the wavy side with a few ringlets, so it doesn't get so dry. I am going to try co-washing with my conditioner which does foam up when I brush it through. I never thought of that before, thanks!

But now with the Winter weather approaching, I just did a hot oil treatment with olive oil, jbco oil and sweet almond oil with a few drops of lavender oil!! And literally, my hair felt softer applying my oil while warmer!! My fav parts of my routine are oiling and deep conditioning, and I haven't cowashed in so long but will incorporate it, thank you again!!❤❤❤🙏

I feel like I started on this curl journey to learn more about how to care for my daughter's curls properly, but ended up learning so much about my own hair in the process! I often wonder if I should be using the pricier products like Aveda on my girl's curls, and if that's necessary. Anyways, thank you for another awesome and informative video!
