Yes, going downhill is more dangerous than uphill, because of loose stones. I've had 2 injuries from hiking and both were acquired going downhill. Another excellent vid. Gracias hermano. Take care.

@20:46 Just like my stage 3 in the Camino Invierno last August between Villamartin de Valdeorras and Quiroga (about 35 kms) where there is no basic services in the first 24 kms not to mention steep descent and gradual climbs with loose gravels.

If you’ve reached this point yourself after doing the Hospitalas Route or coming from Pola d’Allande (as I did) at the height of August, you’ll know what I mean! When you get to Berducedo, you have the knowledge that you can take on the world after this accomplishment!

What a great memory Efren! Thanks for sharing the Camino magic. I remember that day of my Camino like it was yesterday, and reliving your steps today made me feel like I was actually doing the ascent and then the descent too. Our weather on that day in 2019 was much the same as yours. Super foggy up top, cows RIGHT next to us when they came into view, the “fog lakes” and then that rocky, crazy descent! Love it!

Whenever you mentioned how hot you were, I'm point at the sun umbrella on your pack. Did you forget it was there? I'll do this one in September, and I'm sure I'll need an umbrella. Really beautiful, Efrén! I walked the Primitivo in late July this past summer, so I think I was a week or two behind you. It's great to see all the places that I walked through and I was especially looking forward to this footage- the Hospitales route is one of my all-time favorite Camino days!

Thanks for posting ! Primitivo was my first Camino in winter it was amazing, but didn’t go Hospitales was told never to do in winter and so late in the day 🤣 but now seen it so I don’t have to go back and do another Camino but must say SAN Salvador looks great! Psst I hear Picos de Europa are fabulous 👊 enjoy Chemin Le puy I found it very spiritual and religious and very interesting dynamics! .Dean the Photo Bomber on el Norte

I have always been under the belief that the base of the shell represents Santiago and the lines represent the Camino's to Santiago. Frances day 1 walking in the mist.

I don't remember it being challenging. The lack of food and water is what made the stage tough. You have to carry all your supplies for the day.

I did both descents this past summer (the Hospitales and the descent after Cruz de Ferro), and in some ways I thought the descent after Cruz de Ferro was a little more challenging. It felt longer and the rocks were more uneven. On that stretch of the Hospitales, I think the most difficult part is that for a bit the descent is rather steep, so you've got to take it slow. But with careful footing and a walking stick/walking poles, I think both are do-able!

Efren, trying to make a decision about walking the Primitivo vs. a section of the Frances (Leon to Santiago) in late spring with my daughter. Are you going to open your video on Primitivo thoughts soon? Also, when I walked the Frances, finding vegetarian meals were not a problem. How about on the Primitivo? Have been watching your amazing videos for the past couple of years. My daughter was just behind you by a few days when you walked the AT. She also had to give up on her original goal, due to the frigid, rainy weather.

only two more vlogs left until Melide. I'm releasing one per week on Saturdays. I'm not a vegetarian so I can't give you advice on that my problem is that I eat everything. Incredible that your daughter was right behind me on the AT. I decided to finish it in 500 mile section hikes. the AT is not visually rich for daily vlogging a thru hike.
