Woa! An applause for that old DYMO mechanical machine! I'm 44 years old and I remember my parents using does neat devices. They turn out with excellent looking labels. Greetings from Portugal.

Hey there! The labels stayed adheared all season. I had one come off over the winter but I glued it back on with E6000 and it’s still on there!

How well did that paint pen hold up to the elements over time?
@WhitneyBaldwin6 жыл бұрын
It held up really well! I only used them for one season and took them out of the ground in late October. I think I can get another year out of them but since the wood is so thin some of them warped a little. The paint stir sticks are in great shape though!

Can I use resin for plant labels?
@vintagelady19 ай бұрын
Really nice, easy,cute labels for the veg & herbs, but my experience is that the wood rots fast, so these might not be for things that need permanent labels. But I wonder about the stuff you dip the handles of tools into, if that would protect the wood...Anyway, these are great for the annuals, very clever.

How long does the paint pen last on the chalkboard paint stick?
@WhitneyBaldwin2 жыл бұрын
Mine have lasted a few years! The wood degrades faster than the paint pen

Would need to see these after a couple of month in the ground - wooden markers are notorious for quickly rotting or getting moldy. Would advise against wood for use in the UK/Central Europe.
@WhitneyBaldwin4 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Yes, I found that wood markers don’t do great in the ground. I made an updated video on some ideas that might work better. Here is the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/aH_He6iehLabrKc

Just curious what they look like after 2 growing seasons as it's now 2020. I did wood last year and they basically rotted and are unreadable after 1 season. How are your's doing? I'm trying to find something waterproof that will last in RAINY Washington..Any CHEAP IDEAS? Thanks, Debbie
@WhitneyBaldwin4 жыл бұрын
Hi Debbie! The stir sticks and the shims have lasted for two seasons but the thinner wood rectangles with pop cycle sticks are toast. I’m working on some ideas for longer lasting tags.. I should have a video up in a few weeks. I’ll let you know when it’s posted!!

What's Name Tag label?
@darkbulb3674 жыл бұрын
holy SHIT that is NOT EFFICIENT. We're trying to quickly, easily and inexpensively label our shit & grow it, not waste hours crafting cute little signs. A "DEVICE???" for labeling? This shit needs to be about 5 seconds to produce a label spike and 30 to write what you need.
@WhitneyBaldwin4 жыл бұрын
Hi Dark Bulb, The most efficient way would be to buy labels from the store and write on them with permanent marker. If you’re willing to be mildly innovative you could cut up a milk jug or yogurt container into strips then write on those with a permanent marker. This video is for people who enjoy being crafty and value artistry over efficiency. I encourage you to make your own video on your ideas for garden labels. I’m sure a lot of people would want to see it. Cheers
