I live Outside of Tecumseh Oklahoma. After traveling with my Van Halen tribute band to Iowa Minnesota Arkansas Mississippi Texas Los Angeles California and of course lots of places in Oklahoma... I can say that I appreciate my Tecumseh Oklahoma home more than ever. I live about 8 miles west of Tecumseh and a little over 20 miles east of Norman. Shawnee twin lakes are right up the road. And there are few other lakes within 30 minutes. Sulfur springs is less than an hour south. I would pick Tecumseh Oklahoma over Los Angeles any day of the week. We can hit the lakes for summer time fun or the Metro for nightlife. We have a couple acres with a 2012 3 bedroom 2 bathroom mobile home. You can go to the grocery store or the gas station without running into any traffic jams and you can make it to work without any traffic jams. Los Angeles can take an hour just to travel a couple miles sometimes lol..not to mention I would have to pay thousands and thousands of dollars to live in a three bedroom home that is as nice as ours. We don't even pay $1,000 a month for our mortgage utilities and cable bill. You can't get that in the Big city's. The big cities are fun to visit but I would never live at any of em

Choctaw has an extra city tax, and is around 9% state over all has high taxes, then add on extra taxes.. Car & home insurance is also quite high plus a excise tax

Moved there and it is the worst place I have lived in my opinion. Every other house or building is either falling down or had a fire. The “downtown “ is dying and the people are unfriendly…gladly left there after 9 miserable months. Stay away from Muskogee!!!
@Boomerlake7 күн бұрын
That Muskogee couldn't keep its Best Buy open should tell you something. At least the Best Buy in Stillwater is still open. The Stillwater city government won't tolerate houses in bad, unlivable condition for too many years and eventually will tear down such houses. The city won't let you keep old, abandoned cars and other junk in the front yard. Or have tall grass needing mowed. They may even post a notice on your front door telling you that there is poison ivy growing in your front yard complete with a photo of it and that you have to get rid of it. So, if you go to Stillwater and notice it's more well kept up than other towns, such as Muskogee, you know why. The downtown has been doing better, rather than dying.
