I've got a GTV V6, had it for around 3 years and love it! Big thing for the V6 is the Cambelt and Waterpump that cost me around 1200 a year or so ago...worth it for that Busso Sound though! 👌

I run a 916 Alfa Spider (GTV) as a daily and it makes me smile every day. Yes, it’s more expensive to maintain than a box on finance, but if a car makes you happy it’s worth it. Check history, check the ad for the sort of house it lives at, consider a convertible that has lived as a second ‘weekend toy’ hiding in a double garage and put a little money aside every month just in case. Use a specialist mechanic and get on the forums. If you can do all of these, go for your dream cars and own a hobby rather than a tool. If you love cars you might as well enjoy yourself. We work too hard not to.

@@kells77 I'm an owner of one too, rust is not a common issue on them, it's mainly on the sills as said in the video because a lot of mechanics don't know where the jack points are so when they lift up the car they damage the sills and that creates a chance for rust to form

Love that Corrado VR6, also I noticed even dating back to many of your oldest videos but your microphone for your camera sounds all loud and echoey but for the commentary side of the video, your microphone is pretty clean. It's not a big problem at all but I always end up saying the camera microphone is the earrape microphone just for a laugh, hopefully the Polo is all good now as well :)

I may be biased but for less than half the price you could get a E46 325ti compact. The facelifted 6 speed models are incredibly rare with only 124 left on the roads now and the prices are only climbing. There’s article upon article calling for people to snap them up while the prices are cheap and some even go as far to call them a “modern interpretation of the E30 M3” and a “mini M3”. There’s so few 6 cylinder RWD hatchbacks around and is a guaranteed future classic. 0-59 in just over 6 seconds (a change to 3rd is needed to get to 60 so without the limiter being raised the 0-60 is closer to 6.7s). They’re massively underrated and undervalued due to the marmite headlights but I absolutely love mine. I’d love a V6 Alfa though. A GTV6 (original and the one in the video) or a 147 GTA is on my list 👍🏼

I had a fiat 20vt a few years ago and it was absolutely brilliant, the 5 cylinder engine sounded incredible almost like a baby V10, a deep howling exhaust note as you’re revving through the gears, loved it

So I’ve owned a vr6, s2 (about 5 years for each)and I bought a fiat coupe recently. All cheap to run as they didn’t depreciate. The corrado was the best to drive, the Porsche the best to own and the Fiat is the best to look at!

I have a Toyota celica gt 4 mk2 from 1988 I brought it for 2 grand 2 years ago this video just reminded me to do it up because it needs a respray bushes changed a gearbox rebuild an engine rebuild and a new paint job after I do this i could potentially get 750 bhp with the money I have thanks for making this video 👍

Satria GTi Legacy R spec.B Saab 9-3 Carlsson (Turbo XWD would do) Volvo S60R Mazda6 MPS (admittedly wasn't that rare until they all broke) Skoda Superb V6 ("classic" is questionable perhaps) Peugeot RCZ R. This one's £12k but I'm a fanboy so it's in my list ☺

I had a similar situation that you had with your 944, but for me it was a saab 900 turbo in a good spec, it was partially disassembled and behind my local police station of all places, but only a few weeks ago it was gone, there was a few parts scattered around, but unfortunately I think it was scrapped or parted out, who knows?

The series mcrae Subaru Impreza is a good semi classic car to try and get cos there are only 200 of them made but only 100 registered as mcrae’s in the logbook and and they can go from anything between 8 or 9 to around 15 , 16k depending on condition

I buy cars I like, what anyone else thinks is irrelevant. I never buy for investment reasons, if they increase in value that's a bonus. The idea of investment for most cars, other than rarest and most after, is mostly false as when all the costs of ownership are factored in you have done well if you break even. If you have the spare cash, why not have some fun, the money's not earning anything in the Bank. There are so many cars between 10 and 20 years old to choose from at all price points.

Not rare...there are multiple thousands of them. I reckon a good benchmark is a McLaren 570S, there are 735 of those, so anything less is rare. There are 689 of my car ☺ Not under £10k though...although give it 10 years and it'll deserve a spot on these lists.

The older gen was common enough that the later one might not get classic status, but it's an 8 year old hybrid that puts out more power than a brand new Audi S6 and still beats it by 10-15mpg (the older gen GS is about 10mpg worse too). TR7's are the biggest bargain for me. I mean the market on them is quite varied but they have a cheap and plentiful parts supplies which is a problem with a lot of cars never mind the cars themselves aren't that expensive due too all the hate that poor car got which they don't realise actually does the TR7 owners a favour 🤣
