I daily an LS3 Corvette in the UK. I’ve had a few different V8 car’s including the CL500 in this list. I think the LS3 is the finest V8 ever made. Loads of power and unparalleled reliability

The Lexus LS430 became legendary because there’s a bonus level on Street Fighter 2 Turbo (on the Super Nintendo) where you get 30 seconds to do as much damage possible to an LS430

I genuinely think the Jag S-Type is aging so well that it looks better now than it did new - it didn't look incredible new, but it'll be a classic, if any of them last long enough 😄 Best V8 ever...it's tough, I'm ignoring modern V8s for now and saying Plymouth Superbird. It's probably terrible, so not the best and this is a rubbish comment, but I still want that insane wing.

Its a shame so few of these were sold with manual gearboxes, I think its only the S5. And really, if you buy an S5 over an S4 Avant, really all you're saying is that you care more about looking good than being useful

6 series is an absolute nightmare. Main component is in the boot, in the wheel well, where they’re known to leak water. Electrics fry up. If you know a trustworthy and knowledgeable mechanic, he’ll be able to sort it without breaking your bank. BMW would tell you it’s a £7000 job. They also die when they got over 100,000 Longevity is poor.

I bought mine at just under 100,000 and have had 5 good years of reliable motoring. Bought it for £6K, probably spent about 6K. Cheap motoring, and a fantastic car. Admittedly it is starting to fail now at 150,000 miles, but it isn't the engine, it's the smaller things like PDC, water ingress, heater etc. It would be a good project car for someone, but road tax is high. The engine is a dream, and I have not replaced the car because I couldn't find anything as good for the money.... until now - have just bought a Cayman S. Time will tell, and I expect it will be more expensive to keep on the road than the 650i.
