If you’re bored of just using the bassline notes for your chord progressions, try finding a set of chords that harmonizes with your bassline to make it more interesting instead of just using the root note! This approach will be a little harder, but well worth it in the end because the sub will be harmonically pleasing to all the other instruments in the track!

a fun thing to try if you’re struggling with chord progressions is to the letters of your chords and try to arrange them into words. it’s how I came up with one of my favourite progressions to start from - FACE. This works best in C major but the results can always be transposed to another key.
