Great video! There is a 3rd party component cable for the DOL-001 made by retro-bit for about $60. I couldn't tell a difference in visual quality between it and the officially released cables but it does come with the L & R audio connectors so you don't have to rely on using the multi-out for sound.

You can order Rad2X cables from Retro Gaming Cables which is in the UK. They are costly and with EU depart the customs to EU countries are there and of course to USA etc. other non EU countries. But they are good. It changes the output to HDMI from GameCubes digital output and they are top of notch cables with all kinds of image, sound interference protection etc. In short high tech put expensive.

Hot take? Melee is only stuck on the Gamecube in the same sense that Splatoon 1 is stuck on Wii U... Nintendo doesn't see the difference between Melee and its sequels, as far as they're concerned Smash Ultimate IS Melee HD.

I want a spiritual successor or remake or reboot or anything of Eternal Darkness: Unnecessary Subtitle so badly lol The amount of times I've referenced that wicked sanity system in conversation is insane and to me the whole game is right up there with Metroid Prime in terms of feel and atmosphere I'm not saying that I wouldn't welcome a slew of quality of life changes to the game but at its core it's amazing
