This makes so much sense. I haven’t been hungry lately and I do one mile run every morning and 45 min workout in afternoon and I haven’t been hungry at all and I’ve been getting full faster. My waist is getting smaller and I can see visible muscles getting more defined. The scale literally is staying the same

Thanks so much for explaining this! I was almost in tears a couple weeks ago because I was almost through a 100 miles challenge ( jogging/walking between Thanksgiving and Christmas) on top of lifting every morning, and the scale said I GAINED 4 lbs! My husband assured me it's muscle, and my pants feel good, so I calmed down. 😆 Sage has the BEST cheeks, and some fantastic hair by the way...CUTENESS OVERLOAD!😍

I lost 82lbs in 2023. It took a bit longer than I had expected but the journey was relatively easy. Had a minor setback during Christmas week cuz I didn't wanna miss out on a few foods that only come around once a year. But the knowledge you've shared has been a beacon a light. So it won't any problem getting back on the right path. Thanks!

Dont sweat holiday meals. Your body cant store all of that as fat fast enough before it passes through the digestive tract and you make a deposit in the porcelain bank. it takes a long time to get fat, just as it takes a long time to use up and lose the fat. if you fall off the wagon, enjoy the ride. then just get right back on. DO NOT fall into the trap of "oh well, i ate a 6000 calorie holiday meal, I might as well just quit trying!" NO NO NO! just go right back to what you were doing with your diet changes the next day and it wont even register a blip on your chart!

For the first time in my obese life, my life is not dictated by the weighing scale 🥲 seeing my pants and shorts literally falling off my waist, seeing my thighs having definition and toned and not jiggly all the way, and enjoying eating good, quality protein sources while not craving junkfood are some things I never thought I could experience. Thank you so much for this video for affirming that I am on the right track and I am gaining results!

How did you do? I tried also aggressive calorie deficit like 600-1000 per day, but no luck. I still have a fat layer, which does not go. I have to starve for one year if I want to see definition and tone in my legs or arms. I am just slightly overweight and my doctor in Croatia said more than this I cannot lose. Here in Scotland I cannot be provided medication for obese people, because I have a BMI of 25.5.

Eat eggs, aged cheeses, goat or sheep cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, and other high-protein foods! Fast 16/8 min or OMAD max! Do 8-12 km of walking daily with an hour of light weight resistance training to maintain muscle mass! Put the scale away and pay attention to how clothes fit and your waistline! It is deeper than calories in and calories out because if you are in menopause; your hormones play a huge role in the accumulation of belly fat. I worked with my doctor and my specific prescription was cross training with weights more than cardio but also doing low impact cardio consistently. Hi autumn Can you help me to understand something? I am eating healthy and working out, and I’m definitely feeling and seeing a difference in my body and even on the scale. But it’s not moving as fast as it should technically, even though I’m in a very large calorie deficit I’m eating protein I don’t eat grain and I have cut my sugar drastically. My question is if I’m losing fat and putting on muscle at the same time, I understand the scale won’t move, but does it move EVENTUALLY? Because I don’t want to be 170 pounds of lean muscle mass. I want to be 130 pounds of lean muscle mass at 5’5. I want to be light. I guess I just don’t understand how this works from this aspect. I want that scale to move. I appreciate any help

If you're at a very large calorie deficit, then you're definitely not eating enough. Let me explain: *You must properly fuel your day, otherwise your metabolism will slow, and it will be even harder.* You really should be max about 15% deficit, to not affect your metabolism, and that percent is if you're not doing extreme workouts. Also, there's no such thing as "should be". Your body is your body and it doesn't have to (and probably won't!) do exactly what you want it to, and really you don't want rapid weight-loss anyway because usually it's either water, or your body is eating your muscle mass and/or bones. Muscle is considered expendable from a survival standpoint, so when someone is extreme dieting (aka your body is in survival mode) that is the first to go, as well as your bone density, which is scary. You want slow and steady FAT loss (not simply weight loss) over a long term. Like 1/2 to 1 pound per week MAX. You want your weight loss to be sustainable, which takes time. Extreme weight loss due to crash dieting and/or over exercise isn't sustainable, which means all that you had put yourself through was for nothing, because it all comes back. Wouldn't it be much better to take time to do it in a healthy way, and have it be permanent? 💙 Also remember that fat loss is far from linear, you can go up and down over time, and that's actually totally normal. What matters is that there is a downward *trend* over time, the individual ups and downs don't mean much. 🙂

Those scales are complete horse shit. They use electrical impedance. They can be manipulated by just drinking water. Just use a normal scale, look in the mirror, or better yet, take selfies once a week on the same day and at the same time like every Friday morning right after you get up and before you’ve had anything to eat or drink. The last thing is pay attention to how your clothes fit and how you look in them. Don’t bother worrying about if it’s muscle or fat you’re losing. The only way you could get a remotely accurate measurement would be to get weekly Dexa scans. If you’re body weight is going down, your measurements are going down, and your clothes are fitting better you’re obviously losing weight. To turn the odds in your favor of burning more fat and less muscle incorporate weight training at least a few days per week as part of your overall activities and you’ll be just fine !

, walking can help lose weight. Weight loss involves creating a calorie deficit, wherein the number of calories you burn is greater than those consumed. 4 kilometers of walking per day may affect this calorie deficit especially if accompanied with a nutritious diet. The number of calories that are burnt during a walk is contingent on many elements including you weight, walking rates and terrain. For an average individual who weighs about 155 pounds (70 kg), one can burn up to around 314 calories by walking at a moderate pace for every hour. 4 kilometers per day walked at this pace might help in increasing your overall calorie burn. While walking is a great starting point, it's essential to consider other factors for effective weight loss: Diet: Pay attention to your diet. Balanced diet and controlled portion sizes. On whole foods, fruits, vegetables , lean proteins and whole grains. Consistency: Regularity is key. 4 kilometers a day of walking can help you establish some regularity in exercising, which will assist in perpetuating calorie deficit Intensity: If you want to elevate the intensity of your walks, then turbo charge by incorporating brisk intervals or throw in some hills so as to burn more calories.rb.gy/qfk1x3 Strength Training: Add some form of strength training to your regimen. Building muscle will increase your metabolism so you burn more calories even when resting. Hydration: Drink plenty of water because it is essential for good health and weight loss. Sleep: Make sure that you sleep well and enough. Sleep deprivation may affect weight loss negatively. Remember that weight loss is a slow process, and results may differ from one person to another. It is always good to contact a healthcare professional or fitness expert before beginning any new exercise regimen, weight loss program especially if you have underlying health concerns.rb.gy/qfk1x3

I've been doing intermittent fasting for about 3 months. But usually not fasting for more than 24 hours. I seldom get really hungry now and I get full quicker. The first surprise I had was that I had to adjust my car seat up a click! I started losing inches around my waist before it showed much on the scales. And I feel much better and have less stiffness and soreness. Win-win! The weight loss will come ...

Similar with my experience with intermittent fasting. I usually do 14-16 hours IF. I do feel less hungry and fell full much sooner and feel full longer after eating moderate amount of food 😊

This is some really helpful advice! many people tend to only look at the scale for weight loss which absolutely says nothing about losing fat or if you're actually decreasing your health by starving into a skinny fat. The body measurements (lean & fatty tissue percentage), the stiffness of connective tissue, sleep quality, hunger feeling & cravings, and the fitting of clothes truly are the signs you should look for! 👌

It can be difficult to not see the scale move, as I weigh the same, but my measurements are getting smaller and are the same as when I weighed about 15 pounds less. I also feel stronger and leaner. My focus is on my health, though I am looking forward to getting back down to a more comfortable size.

As well as checking my weight, each month I check my measurements with a tape measure. In six months of dieting I have dropped from a UK size 22, to a size 16. Still have a long way to go

To anyone who's reading this: You are strong. You are beautiful. You are powerful. Remind yourself that working out is not a punishment for what you ate, but a celebration of what your body can do! I hope you have a fantastic day :))

I really believe, as you explained here, that building muscle mass makes one look thinner. At some point the scale doesn’t matter anymore. That point is hard to get to as a lifelong yoyo dieter like me. Consistency and patience are key at this point. I made it to the other side! I started using the links to your strength training sessions in your 21 Day Intermittent Fasting Program. My goal is to do each session fully, all the circuits and sets. I am learning to like doing this. The core strength one is the most challenging for me. I’ll get there. Love love love to see Sage in your videos. She’ll be six months soon, time goes by so fast! Thank you for all you do for your AEN Peeps, you’re amazing. 💪❤️🇨🇦

That so true Guylaine, that's my next goal. I've lost close to 50 lbs but I've definitely gone off the rails or ate something that wasn't good for my body. Normally I'd just give up but not since finding Autumn's channel. I've not given up once. And you're so right, we have to be patient with ourselves and that's not easy especially now days when we're used to instant gratification. I may not reply very often but I love reading your comments. After seeing your interview with Autumn I got so encouraged from your testimony. Because I was a yo-yo dieter too. God Bless you always 🤗

Curiosity question? What age do your clients go up to regarding strength training? Have you got anyone over 60-65? Is your advice the same. I have visions of a mobile Sage running amok in the background of your videos. You smiling, talking, getting Sage out of the refrigerator 😂😂

, walking can help lose weight. It is always good to contact a healthcare professional or fitness expert before beginning any new exercise regimen, weight loss program especially if you have underlying health concerns.rb.gy/qfk1x3 @@AutumnBates

So how will you lose weight if you’re gaining muscle? My doctor keeps focusing on my weight and it’s frustrating me because it hasn’t gone down but everyone around me said I looked like I lost a lot of weight. Which I just found out last week I went from XL sweatshirt to a Medium.

As a woman who has had to be careful about posting content that gives clues as to where I am on vacation or where im spending free time, im letting you know that I recognize locations and local brands that you have in some of your videos. Some people aren’t concerned about people knowing where they might be spending time, but it occurred to me to let you know that I recognize locations in a lot of your videos. I hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but I’d rather that than someone also recognizing the locations and surprising you when you would rather they don’t. I’m just looking out, because there are a lot of not cool people out there. Stay safe!
