May I ask, is affinity designer good ?
@raybeer5494 жыл бұрын
@@ahmadfachryzal4466 I'm sure it's good. I know nick has done a few tutorials with it. But as I know inkscape so well after nicks lessons, I still navigate around it better. Affinity designer is more suitable to me for using gradients in screen printing, so while I use inkscape for initial design,I may port into affinity for conversion to spot colours.

I'll add another one of mine. Moving objects with gradient fills and wondering why the coloring goes whack. There's an icon near the stroke scaling icon that enables / disables moving gradients with the objects and it's disabled by default.

Good video 👍 I think the problems you've listed are more about Inkscape developers' and UI/UX designers' mistakes, rather than the users'. For example: 1. Why are not the path operations supported for non-path objects? Just program it to ungroup the selection to paths and then proceed with the regular tool's logic. 2. You've pointed it yourself. Possible solution: show a warning: "You've selected a lot of nodes, whoah! Are you sure about that? It's hard to process, so the program can crash!". This dialog should contain the buttons to proceed and cancel respectively. 3. Seems fine, but the general UI of Inkscape with its unlabeled buttons all over the place probably hurts the discoverability of this useful option. 4. Same as the #3 5. The UI/UX of exporting could be improved. E.g. there should be a preview of the borders of the exported region and so on. P.S. You placed the . instead of : for the #2 timetag in the description.

@Logos by Nick, great BUT your screen resolution is set so that your icons are microscopic compared to the screen. You move pretty fast, too. SO I can see you click up there on some icon, and voila! But I can't tell what you're clicking on, and I suspect your toolbars at the top are different than mine. Keep up the great work! You're my source for great Inkscape tutorials.

I would add another feature like this: -Effects of blur and shadow will be visible only in png format, as svg does not display them in the system (relevant when creating icons). Therefore, creating shadows and blurring in simple ways in this case is not suitable for using exactly the svg format And here's another thing. If you need a circle to transform it further, it's best to use a square with rounded edges.
@vintprox4 жыл бұрын
Indeed, these filter usually serve to rasterize the vector. I'd prefer path shadows. Simple circle is usually enough if you don't plan to add deviating corners.

@lawrencedoliveiro91044 жыл бұрын
That’s a limitation of your SVG renderer, not of SVG or Inkscape itself. For example, I just checked a couple of my own SVG files in Firefox, GIMP and a GTK-based image viewer, and the blurs rendered just fine in all of them.

Any great books that you read, persons that influence, how to invoke certain feelings etc. Courses to take in different areas in color theory, form and such? I hope you know what i mean. Not a tutorial really, but more theoretical. I'm thinking of doing some print on demand.. Mostly for fun tho, because i think its really saturated and hard to earn any big money. Cheers!

Thanks for these tutorials, you're the best teacher I have ever seen ,my problem is when I rotate a shape in inkscape it doesn't have the same form ,if it is a square it changes to a rectangle with new dimensions,plz how can I fix this issue
@LogosByNick3 жыл бұрын
It's the width and height of the bounding box that changes. The object itself does not change size when rotating.
