Ken Rosenthal is the most eloquent, deeply thoughtful, and best informed baseball talk show host/moderator there is. He is nearly equal to how good Vin Scully was at calling a game. I am a lifelong Dodger fan and have the highest level of deference and appreciation for the god-like status Vin warrants, so I make this statement about Ken with incredible delicacy of the comparison.

Even five years ago, when WAR was not as widely quoted as it is today, a DH-only player might have been automatically disqualified in MVP voting. But the situation is different today. If Ohtani's WAR is higher than say Harper's at the end of the season, then an argument can be made that Ohtani's offensive-only value exceeds Haper's combined value on offense and defense. In addition, voters all know that Ohtani's ability as an elite pitcher, which separates him from all other DH-only sluggers. Even if this distinction is supposed to be irrelevant in this seasons' MVP voting, it could still affect voters' thoughts.

Though, as a Guardians fan, I agree that we need better starting pitching, I think the claim that Allen should not be in the rotation is a little harsh. True, he has struggled at time with command early in games, but in most of his starts he has been able to pitch through the 5th inning and has given the Guardians an excellent chance to win.

The Yankees have issues from the mid to lower half of that lineup. Seems like they all look to launch the ball instead of making consistent contact. The other factor is this team is very stationary on the bases which is a very big issue

"Ace" is the most overused word in baseball after "superstar". Freddy Peralta an ace? Not even close. Maybe like 9 aces in the MLB

I was very happy with how honest Reggie Jackson was. He didn’t hold back, he didn’t sugar coat things. People need to realize that shit like that happened and sadly still often happens today. White Supremacy is very much alive and well today

If Major League baseball wants to feel guilty for what happened well thats on them. Baseball fans today are not responsible for what happened back in the the 60's or before. Stop trying to make us feel guilty for something we had zero control over. Teaching us is one thing, making us feel responsible is another.
