Hi Mike - I'll check out Richard's videos. I think I had heard of these bands except for the 7" singles bands and PFM (the Italian band) but I haven't listened to any of them except for Del Fuegos. I used to have The Longest Day (their first album, I think) on cassette....it probably is still around here somewhere. Interesting video!
@TCatsDeepVinylTraxxАй бұрын
Thanks Randy. I really think you should give Can a try, especially Tago Mago, it seems right up your alley. Cool psych Krautrock with an experimental edge. I think you would appreciate Fred Frith too, very experimental, and his early band Henry Cow, progressive jazz fusion at it's best. PFM had some excellent albums, but some of their later ones got a bit commercial, but they are great musicians. Some albums are in English and some are Italian.

Hey Mike. Tago Mago is such a great album, doesn’t get enough love. I have an original which I’ve had since the early 70s. I also have the first couple of PFM records. Art, the North Carolina Vinyl Picker is a big fan. Nice series. Cheers.

@@vinylmartini3377 Hey Jack. That's so cool to have an original of that album. I've been trying to get the other Can albums but they are usually quite pricey. I had an original Italian pressing of PFM in USA that I bought in Italy way back in the early 80s that I wish I would have held on to. But I guess it must have gone the same way as all my other vinyl back when I thought vinyl was finished. If only we all could have predicted it's return.

Glad you are having a bunch of views on your last one ! Diodes "Red Rubber Ball" is cool. I'm lucky to have your Del Fuegos.. Excellent record ! Wow ! PFM I listened a lot in the mid 1970's. And have 3 on vinyl. 🎹

@@jtsrecordroom3963 I'm glad to hear that you are already a PFM fan. I heard them first in Italy when I was there back in 1980 . It's always great to find one of their albums. Love to find great 7" records in great shape with jackets still intact. Usually the ones I find are in awful shape with no sleeves.

I'd love to go to Italy... And Greece ! Actually, I have 4 PFM albums, including Chocolate Kings. A prog band I have been picking up lately is Kayak. If a picture sleeve is in Vg condition on a 45, I will buy it and the record.. Otherwise, I'll throw the picture sleeve away and re sleeve the 7" I'm taking a week off, Sean has fall break this week. I dug at Bill's last night after work, and I blew right by Cherrie Curry's debut ! Aghhhh ! I will go back and get it !

@@jtsrecordroom3963 Kayak is another great band that is often ignored. I have Phantom of the Night on vinyl which is the album that got me into them back when it came out. Thanks, Mike.. I'm diving into Kayak next as I picked up two later albums from them at Bill's. I want the debut from 1973. Hopefully, we will do Italy and Greece in 2026 !

Mike, I just wanted to say congratulations on your runaway success! The singles are great. I really like the Del Fuegos release. I didn't know many of the bands, but I think they're all pretty good. 👍
@TCatsDeepVinylTraxxАй бұрын
I've loved Del Fuegos ever since this album was released, but I don't understand how they always seem to get ignored seeing as they are one of the best garage bands around. Thanks for the congrats, it's always exciting to see certain videos get so many hits, but it never seems to be consistent. It seems that it has a lot to do with the topic or the title. But I'll take it when I can. Too bad a lot of those don't subscribe, but I'm not going to let numbers get me down again. It's about the music!

Awesome. I only gave Tago Mag on CD. Diodes! I only know the Del Fuegos because my kids loved Dan Zanes. I am a Frith fan, but I never see vinyl. I only have CDs by him. Cool choices. Cat cameo!

@@EmbryonicRobot I had to show that Normie was still around after a few people asked about him. You are right about Fred Frith, hard to find on vinyl but I also have 3 CDs from him. They are hard enough to find. Tago Mago rules...I need lots more Can in vinyl!

Tagomago is a unique and cool album. But the other day I listened to Peking O, and I really had to wonder. Imagine going for a picnic in the park and hearing a guy doing the vocal track for Peking O right around your favourite picnic spot. I’m sure you’d go somewhere else.

@@MGKBOSTON I'm probably a bit too picky when it comes to singles but I only want the ones that are unique or that I think might be valuable. I don't have a lot of them but I do enjoy the ones I got, but many times, unless they look to be in good shape or in original sleeves, I pass right by them.
