It's always exciting for me to discover videos and updates on so many different species of animals out in the wild that are newly found and documented that are seldom seen or heard of which means they are hiding and thriving and hopefully their species will populate more :o) Great information and video my friend !!

In 1980 I found western swamp Turtles in 2020 I went back to see if I could find them again and after much searching I found one again and they are not near Perth the best thing I could do for these little guys is just not tell anyone where they are as I believe they are much safer left alone I was so happy to see something I seen as a child was still there to the people that are saving these little guys may God bless you if anybody disturbed the land these creatures live on I will be sure to contact Perth Zoo to make sure the land is not disturbed as they are a gorgeous little turtle and deserve to not go extinct

One year ago I'm the person that wrote the when I was a kid and found a little patch of western swamp turtles and went back to see if they were still there and yes like I said they were and I'm happy to say when i later went back gone back and this time I actually found 4 I don't know whether or not the zoo is aware of this place but personally I feel like The guardian as I said a year ago if this land is disturbed I will be in touch with the authorities ASAP as these are absolutely gorgeous little creatures I was so happy to go back and find 4 it was not easy 2weeks in a swamp not nice, but by the grace of God theres more of them than last i checked. I don't know if Perth zoo or anyone else is aware of this colony but nevertheless those Little creatures have nothing to fear from me finding one is like miracle actually finding 4 was literally one of the highlights of my life and I will continue to keep there home as safe and unknown as possble god bless all the people that take care of our beautiful wildlife.

What sort of habitat should I be providing in Victoria for any of the Victorian endangered animals? If I can I'd love to plant trees etc to attract the parrots.
@WickedWildlife
@WickedWildlife 6 жыл бұрын
Alyson Beard depending on where you are and what species your hoping to attract there is lots of things Native trees are a great start, but I always recommend a good mix of species, often nurseries stock the prettiest flowing gums, which results in lorikeets moving in en mass and keeping other birds away, A good mix of flowing plants for food, spikey/thorny plants as habitat for the small species and some nest boxes or hollow logs goes a long way Creating a water source is another idea that also helps wildlife

Wicked Wildlife thanks Nick I'm in Melton and already see the occasional lorrikeet in both my front & back yard never more than three at any time though. I'll see if council can direct me to local conservation groups to find out what they recommend for where I am.
@WickedWildlife
@WickedWildlife 6 жыл бұрын
Alyson Beard your local Cathment Management Authority would be your best bet. Your council should have their details or you’d find them in a google search

Really annoys me that when you need help to try and save a species everyone you ring can't help you but hit you straight up for donations lost a full colony of koalas on the hundred acres I own because no one wanted to help and still got the nerve now to ring and email me looking for donations this attitudes gotta change or we haven't got a chance of saving anything
