Ditto to everyone else’s comments about your talent, skill, camaraderie with Xander. Thank you for getting me out of my Living Room and into the wild. I’ve been toying for two years now with the idea of having my own KZbin channel for people over 50. I have extensive camping experience. I’m a fisherman and a hunter and my passion is motorcycle touring and camping along the way. Being a grandfather now makes it a little more bittersweet the idea of being gone for periods of time but I may yet pull it off. Thanks again. You guys are awesome!

Just recently discovered this channel not too long ago, but I must say that I’m loving what I’m seeing so far. I’ve been having your videos play in the background while doing laundry and cooking and find myself getting more done. Your videos reminds me to just stop and smell the roses every now and then, no matter what life throws at you or how busy you get. I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety a good portion of my life, this pandemic doesn’t help, but you learn that it’s the little things in front of you that’ll make a difference and you take one step at a time. I’ve been inspired to go on more walks and hikes lately, even took a small fishing trip. Sorry for rambling. Thank you for posting and taking me on these trips with you. They mean a lot!

You TWO are a classic case of Steve Martin's 'WILD AND CRAZY GUYS' when you get together. Your photography and editing here are remarkable: just to pick out the chipmunk and your willingness to stay with it, even beyond the 'priceless' grooming sequence to record details of its anatomy. I am in the group that is increasingly glad you changed careers!🤩 DON'T SKIP THE FIRESIDE CHAT WITH XANDER after the video is 'CONCLUDED.' Important things are said that are mostly left unsaid in other Bushcraft/Camping videos.

I agree with you Jon that fishing for sustenance would be the number 1 survival skill. It's actually quite astounding when watching content like this (and getting out there myself) how little huntable wildlife there actually is. The scarcity and difficulty in actually making a kill makes fishing exponentially easier to get by on.

Jon, I've been following your channel since early BAO, back when you were that young chap finding time for 90 days in the wilds to catch and release fish. I was inspired by you then and I'm inspired by you now. Not so much the content creation stuff, rather the pure love and adoration you have for the great outdoors and your willingness to sacrifice to preserve it. And what I like the best about your "story" is your bravery; dumping the rat race to share this part of the world with us, your dedicated viewers. Many of us wish we took the road less traveled like you did, swerving left into the wild vs right into the rat race. I hope the platform here still rewards you for the right reasons and we get to enjoy your "story" for years to come; keep telling it, your words are worth listening to!

John, never commented but admit I have watched a ton of your videos mainly for the escapism of the real world! Your words and thoughts ring true to mine! Keep up the great work....Xander makes a great addition. Cheers to you both.

Just watched this one been following you now for a while but I hadn't seen this one, And I really enjoyed it. The slower pace that's just hanging out it's been really nice to watch you guys just camping. I know right now. You're dealing with your knee so if. If you give us an update will you appreciate it. Praying for you looking forward to seeing you back on the water. I think you and Xander are my favorite ones to watch. I've got others I enjoy as well but you too are my favorites and I you're fun together and you're fun on your own. God bless you, Grandma Teri

I love the adventures of Xander and John. Watching your videos calms my stress levels. And, its inspired me to go back to the camping that I've always loved. I've camped alot in Ontario. Now I live in B.C so i am excited to explore camping here. :-) keep on paddling!

You say surreal, I say That seems grueling fighting the freezing rain. I guess my years in the military in such conditions doesn’t allow you to glamorize it. I appreciate your zeal and the connection made with nature is wonderful.

Hahah I think if you're actually working in those conditions, it's a different vibe. Much appreciated RCB :)
