Recap of the Hobie B.O.S. and TXKBL kayak tournament on Lake Sam Rayburn. 115 anglers registered for the Hobie while we had 92 signed up for the TXKBL.
The bite was few and far between for me during my practice period. Only catching non scorable fish no matter where I launched and fished. Seemed to be the same for most anglers during practice.
Because of my terrible practice, on both tournament days, I decided to explore new water that I’ve never fished or seen. I just put my head down and fished….and tried not to look at the electrons too much ha! I didn’t come out too bad honestly.

Dang. I know there’s gonna be a steep learning curve getting into kayak tournament fishing, especially here in Tx where monster bass are everywhere. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen your name on TourneyX whenever I’ve looked at tournaments and checking out placing. Crazy.

Well you most certainly don’t have to go all out like me and some of these other competitors. You can keep it very simple and still do very well in tournaments and have a great time on the water! You’ll meet some pretty awesome people as well!
