I'd include Keyrol Figueroa on the list. There are certain positions where we have historically been thin on talent and depth like at the 9, and I think he has real potential in that spot. I think Vargas and Cremaschi are unlikely to not choose the US, so not as worried about them. Buck probably not super likely to break through with England, but I also don't know if I really rate him as a USMNT regular, even during his prime. Koleosho is obviously a prospect we need to lock in. Already playing and sometimes starting in the EPL (even though it's with a bad team). We'll need a next generation of wingers after Pulisic/Weah, and he should be top of that list right now. I don't know enough about Barajas to weigh in. It also seems like he'll be one of those guys that goes the Julian Araujo route. We'll be in a win some / lose some situation with Mexican American prospects, and I think it's most important that we get the ones who are showing potential to be regulars with the team (i.e. Pepi) as opposed to squad or fringe players.

For such a big country the US has a huge immigrant population. And since soccer is far bigger in many other countries than it is in the US it stands to reason that many of the player pool will come from immigrant populations. Also, as the US is an immigrant country and the way FIFA nationality eligibility works makes most American players dual nationals, even when they really wouldn't normally be considered part of an immigrant population. Pulisic and Reyna are dual nationals, for example. So is Jack McGlynn. Pulisic and Reyna never really considered playing for anyone other than the US but they are eligible. Add in the fact that immigrants and children of immigrants are often more ambitious in the pursuit of extreme goals and you're going to end up with lots of dual nationals in US soccer. It's worth nothing that all 5 of the dual nationals that were the focus of this video were both born and developed in the US.

This whole take tells me that you're an extremely small football country. Zero scouts. Zero youth development. Zero growth. Instead you actively lurk on other countries to steal the prodigies that other countries have spent time, money and expertise to develop. Theres not even a " thank you " given to the countries that youre stealing from. The US should be made to pay for the talent that they are stealing. Fifa should tighten the rules at the very least but it wont. It needs US dollars. So if the only way that the US can be " involved" in world football is by taking advantage of other countries youth development , other countries expertise, time and money , then fifa is going to allow it. Noel Buck is a great talent unwisely abandoned by the broke American non existant system. England develops and develops and develops. The are bringing these kids through at a rapid pace. Look at the under 21 squad. The current champions of Europe. Most of them now in the premier league. England's national team is planning well beyond 2026. The US dont seem to have figured that out. They fixated on 2026 and cant even contemplate beyond that.
@nerychristian Жыл бұрын
LOL. The only reason the Premier League or many European teams are good is because of all the immigrants that play there. Have you seen the French team? How many of those players are children of African or Muslim immigrants? The only reason it's more noticeable when the USA recruits foreigners is because the best players play in Europe, so of course they have to reach out to European players.
@IsaacHenryinAK Жыл бұрын
I believe the truth lies somewhere between what Carol said and what nerychristian said. But Carol, paying England is sort of ludicrous. Everyone knows that all England has to do is cap tie these kids. They could choose to not develop dual nationals if they wanted. Their strategy is quality AND quantity, so you can't blame other countries for playing players that your country doesn't want/need. You could have cap tied Balogun but your country decided it had better players, which is true. It's silly to be sour grapes over something that was your own decision and you had 100% control over.

@@IsaacHenryinAK True. And every country does the same thing. It's not against the rules. These kids have parents from different countries. They can choose who they want to play for. Most of the time, if the USA are able to recruit a dual national, its because the other countries didn't want them. So if anything, we should be grateful that the USA is giving these kids a chance to play on the world stage. Players like Musah, Dest, Robinson, CCV, Balogun, etc probably weren't going to get a chance to play for their respective birth nation's national team. Even if they would have gotten cap tied by their birth nations, they most likely wouldn't be starters. Maybe bench players- if they are lucky. But playing for the USA team almost guarantees that they will be starters. So why in the hell should USA compensate them any money, when they are offering them their dream- to play in a world cup. If anything, playing for the USA actually increases the player's value on the transfer market because teams want skilled American players who will get their teams more viewership from the USA.

Your still counting dybala , Lautaro 🤦🏻♂️ only ones I give you are Enzo , alvarez , McAllister everyone else is average . If it wasn’t for all those penalties and Messi playing insane Argentina don’t get past the first round of the World Cup

Lol Argentina has plenty of talent that hasn’t even been called up yet and would still be better than most US players like Beltran, Perrone, Soule, Avila, Infantino, Barco, Valentini, Miramon, Palacios

Disagree. You don't win the WC with one star player. They're stacked with quality. Also, Brazil is a shadow of its former self.
