I’m not a big fan of your videos cause they just aren’t the kind of videos I learn easy from (not meant to be rude everyone learns differently) but you always have a video for whatever I want so if there is no other ones yours work but the point of this comment (may seem like a rude comment not soposed to be) if to tell you that your happiness and love for dance really inspires me. Thank you for making my days brighter :)

Found you through Pinterest and just subscribed. You guys are adorable! I love that you're showing it at concert tempo, then breaking it down. When I choreograph, I see in my head what I want a lift to look like but haven't had that much partnering myself (like in class) and often don't know what the guy is supposed to do to get the girl to the position I want (although I know what the finished product is supposed to look like). This is so helpful!

Very cool. Was looking to show someone the basic lifts I had to learn and this was perfect. A million years ago in high school I was recruited by my sister’s dance teacher to learn to dance for free as she desperately needed partners for the girls during recitals. The last you demonstrated we also used to get The girls for a shoulder sit. The instructor used to tell us they were the rocket and we were their boosters. Without us they’d never be able to soar. Was great fun but she worked us guys to death.

@sarahelmore836 жыл бұрын
Bethany Sparling Aw! Clarke (my son) is the only boy older than 10 in his studio- there is one or two younger. We have a couple guys who come by just for partnering, but none who actually *dance*. He’s 6’ so he’s tall enough & strong enough to lift all the girls in his classes. He loves every part of dance- even though dancer boys are almost non-existent in our small Arkansas area!

The second lift is the inverse of the flyer's "Casa Loma" lift, and, for all of your Lindy Hop aerial experts out there, it is something like a Back to Back Roll, but with the flyer not ending with landing on the floor. My two bits.

So lift no. 2 is a little bit like a prep for the Casa Loma aerial but not exactly. It is a teeny bit like a "delayed Casa Loma" by the way the one lifted does the flip(s) assisted by the lifter.

All of these lifts look rather dangerous to the lifter's back. Except for the last one, he is forced to bend over and lift from the lower back, which is a great way to injure yourself. The last one looks like maybe you could keep your back a little straighter and lift with your arms and shoulders, but even then, I dunno...
