You’ve got great taste, and do a great job creating a polished finish, making these IKEA products genuinely look more upscale! New subbie! 👍

The ladder will come in really handy for our bathroom that is completely tiled, because hooks don't stick to the walls very well. I forgot I still had a side of a clothing rack in the addic, so thanks for the idea!

Whenever I see makers buying glass containers to alter, I think why don’t they just use the glass containers they have already purchased? Vinegar, pickles, sauces, booze, jams, etc. come in glass containers that we dispose of. If you want nifty vases or cupcake stands or fruit bowls, why not reuse the containers you already have? I see it as a reason to develop your DIY skills. Get yourself a rotary tool, learn about papier-mâché, improve your design skills, etc. I’m not saying one will never need to supplement the materials that already come into our home. You might, but I’d urge you to go to a thrift store rather than buying new. The lifestyle in most of the Global North is to purchase goods in containers that we dispose of (recycling, or into the waste stream) only to turn around and purchase new containers to hold our stuff. I know it comes down to aesthetics. Well that and a lack of patience. I know you hear DIY and you think shanty towns and grade school pasta frames grade aesthetics but you can still use West Elm and the Pottery Barn for inspiration. You can still do Eco Modern and a glut of sand colors. Or Hollywood Regency or French Provincial. Going the DIY route is not just better for your wallet and the environment, but it is also better for your mental health. Challenging yourself and working with your hands enhances your wellbeing. Think about all of the building material that comes into your home --cardboard, glass, aluminum, plastic, steel cans, paper--what could you do with all of that? Especially if you learn to cut stuff up and then reassemble it into the storage containers you fantasize about?

Yo do know, people buy from Ikea to do stuff simple and with no extra tools right? If I want to do something like that I can buy just the materials and do all by myself,
