I only knew one artists who had multiple styles for different things (dig painting, comics, traditional, etc), so seeing their works would always keep me interested because one day would be a digital painting in a semi-realistic style, and the next would be a comic strip where the characters look either chibi or manga. Wish I remembered their name. Been years since I've been on DA. Don't even know if they are still there.

Willow Trash I think he’s using it in the right context Im not an expert Im just learning but I you say “ watashi wa Mikey desu” which literally means “ I is mike” (The wa puts together 2 nouns Incase you’re wondering” saying watashi wa is really bothersome so people mostly use “___ desu”
@arizlunastroir964 жыл бұрын
@Willow Trash What Shany said- using desu before an adjective/noun is like making a statement or presenting something. In his case, he is presenting oneself or affirming his presence. Although, in the case of affirming one's presence, it might be after a question of attendance or just calling another's name and that other says, "Hai, Kazuma desu." which, in translation means "Yes, this is Kazuma." I'm sorry if I might be using non-common English words, it is not my first language.

Another tip a friend gave me: is to merge a copy of all layers, zero the colors put the contrast fully up so only black and white is visible and then make it a color other than black, then set the layer to overlay and you have a really nice colorful veil above your picture (you can always up the opacity or decrease it) its like a filter but only above the parts you want in a specific color (if you only want it on your chara, merge the chara layers etc)
@zhew21404 жыл бұрын

hi, heres a beginner digital art tip! dont use black to shade. if you're doing a manga type beta shading, that's totally ok, you can pull it off. but dont just slap a black airbrush shading onto a bright saturated color (neon yellow, for example.) instead, what I use for cel shade is to choose a color, then set the layer to multiply. lower the opacity of the layer then start shading wherever needed! im not sure if you needed this, but if someone else is reading this, hope this helps!

A video that actually teaches me stuff! I don't need to hear about colour theory and how to draw form for the 100th time, I need ways to actually make them happen, like what this video gives. Using blur filters like that is new to me, using colour filters is also something I haven't considered before, and I forgot about custom brushes. I can use those to pull off the things I kept failing at with brushes.

This is incredibly helpful! I have been drawing traditionally for years, so when I recently started drawing digitally I felt so lost. Learning to blend, and shade digitally was so hard at first! It is so much different. I will definitely try these, thank you!

Adding extras blues and stuff as a backlight, plus adding a bright white edge to the drawing helps add alot of depth!! Play with colors! I've been going a much more rustic pallet with my skin tones, warmer tones and such. It's very very fun.
@kazefuriyama2584 жыл бұрын
Best tip ever for any drawings whether it's color or inked is pay attention to values. I've always experienced frustration because my art always seem to be flat. I knew that area under the sun is very bright, in the shadow is toned down. But when I try to push the light part almost white and the shade deeper (only using the bottom left quarter of the color wheel), it became much more visible that my character standing under the sun. So, duplicate the color layer, and pull the contrast level down. Check if there's 70% midtone, 20% light tone, 10% dark tone in normal light, the darker the environment is, the more and the deeper midtone and darktone are.
