It was very easy. Its done at a cosmetic tattoo place. They numb the skin and put little hair strokes that make your eyebrows look very natural and real. My aunt who is also redheaded loved mine so much she went and had hers done as well as her eyeliner.

It is about $300 though but you get them touched up every 3 years or so or else they do fade and you'll be back to penciling them in or using the brow mascara which is what I normally did. Was well worth the price to pay in my opinion.

I find for an everyday look i prefer to use brown mascara. Sometime the contrast of my skin and hair against a very dark mascara can make me look like a creepy doll.

Nyx has 2 shades in the micro pencil that are fantastic for redheads. The blonde and auburn are both warm toned. Before that i used a green twist up Maybelline pencil with a comb on one side that was warm toned too but i prefer the Nyx formula. Maybelline was too creamy for me.

Years ago I bought brown mascara by mistake and it transformed me. Its not as harsh and severe as black. As a redhead if you use black then experiment and do one eye black and one brown and you'll see the difference.

It's so difficult to find relatable tips on here for makeup when being a ginger is such a different makeup experience. Ya know like you're pale as a ghost, and then me for example my hair can appear more brown indoors but then bright orange outside, and then have extremely fair eyebrows! Hi Joanna your hair is absolutely stunning especially for a natural red. I'm a makeup artist, the best thing to do for eyebrows is to find an eyeshadow thats the ideal colour, and use a small angled brush to dip into it, tap off the excess and brush it through the brows. This was a life saver for me. I would highly recommend trying this or a light brown pencil as your current one is a bit too light. I also recommend a foundation a shade or 2 lighter with slightly more pink undertones, your skin has a lot of pink undertones and your foundation is more on the gold side compared to your neck. I hope you don't take this as a negative lecture or anything, just want to help :) you are beautiful.

I use the MAC “redhead” pencil. During summer, sometimes, I use also the “strawberry blonde” and those are the two that works for my eyebrows ‘cause they don’t really have red shades inside. And yes, I agree: warm colors for us! Redheads are usually spring warm like me (bright, but warm colors) or autumn warm (warm and less bright colors) so cold colors doesn’t look very good on us.

To all my fellow gingers who want a more defined brow, the NYX Micro-brow pencil in the shade Auburn is my absolute favourite, and can be used lightly for more blonde tones gingers, and can be built up for the more orange and brown tones of ginger. It's not too expensive either. Eyeshadows work well too if you use the right shade, there are some great warm toned browns that work great in the Morphe 350M palette, and also has great shades to complement ginger hair on eyes

If you want to try another blush color other than peachy pinks (which I agree are perfect on us day to day), I find I can wear certain dark plum blushes like Nars 'Sin' or Hourglass 'Mood Exposure'. They are great for fall/winter or if you do a more smokey evening look.

I'm auburn. My hair gets a bit browner in winter and way red in summer, even like yours I've had! (Natural) I get asked if I die it every year because of the changes. I have surprisingly found I suit warm and cool colours, and my foundations have been matched to neutral for me! I love wearing coral/oranges, reds, deep or bold! It's crazy! Excellent tip on matching foundation to your neck colour. You have no idea how many makeup artist use a darker shade for my face. Just to share with you, Jane Iredale BB cream in #1 is a perfect match. It is highly pigmented but you can apply it sheer, up to medium coverage to heavy coverage.

Finally another red head who knows their stuff! My issue is my freckles.. When I wear liquid foundation, it looks ridiculous over my freckles.. Powder looks much better, but I have dry skin, so my powder lately has started looking patchy.. It's a lose lose!

I don't mind showing the freckles, but I need some type of coverage for my face in general.. been using mac studio fix powder lately and that looks okay if my face is well hydrated, but I love the idea of using liquid for dry skin and cream based products for contouring and blush and that sort of thing.. love the dewy look, but no clue how to achieve that with my skin combination.. I even asked a mac consultant to help me, and she didn't seem to understand my issue, or know how to fix it. Once I figure this out, I'm gonna shout it to the rooftops, because man oh man it is frustrating that no one seems to have a solution for me, and I know there are other ppl in my situation prob just as baffled and frustrated!

+Brittany Doyle have you tried using liquid/cream products and then the Mac studio fix over the top? I haven't tried powder foundation so don't know if it would let the glow shine through from underneath but I have seen people set their foundation with powder foundation before. You can also get 'cream to powder' blushes. Revlon do a great cream blush that doesn't stay wet and sort of turns to a powder-like finish once applied, but still looks super glowy and dewy

Yeah, I've tried full coverage liquid foundation with a light weight powder on top and I've tried a light weight liquid foundation with a full coverage powder on top.. I've tried just liquid, and just powder.. Right now I am using just the mac studio fix powder for my day to day, and if I go out or something I'll do the light weight foundation with that powder on top, and it's okay.. but it's not great. I have tried a cream blush on top of powder though.. i thought that was a no-no lol.. but maybe I'll give that a try..

As a fellow redhead, I have a recommendation of something I recently tried that was a game-changer: eyelash extensions! they really opened up my eyes and lasted for a month and we're totally worth the price. I did get black because they didn't have brown and it looked great. I have darker natural red hair and I use cover girl #505 rich brown. It works pretty well for me, and sticks nicely. When I dont have anything on my brows, my hairs are so blonde they're practically see through.

NYX makes an amazing shade for redheads, it's one of the Micro Brow pencils in the shade Auburn. It's perfect for my shade of red, if you're a lighter ginger you might wanna go for something lighter. I like my eyebrows to actually be ginger and match my haircolour, I don't really get why you're so respulsed by that hahahaha

SO glad I found you, although I'm terribly late to this video. I am not a natural ginger, I am more of a goldish blonde kind of weird type BUT I am very very fair and dyed my hair ginger (with henna) and it suits me so much better than blonde. This makes me miss my natural red hair. I'm pratically a brunette now and I miss it. Ive never dyed it, it naturally got darker and i miss having a hair color that makes me feel special and more unique. I wish I could go back to being a real ginger. You can only tell i usrd to be one in summer when my hair lightens. I got cursed with dark eyebrows to go with my carrot top so as I got older i realized I was going to lose my beautiful hair color that my sisters had. Such a good tip for the eyebrow pencil. Brow pencil with any red looks so strange on me but the 'ash blonde' colours look perfect.

I use a "redhead" shade brow pomade from colourpop and it looks beautiful and natural. I love wearing reds/oranges/pinks. I hate the way any blush looks like on my skin, but I do agree with the cool tone bronzer. I'd prefer minimal black eyeliner over brown.

The tight-lining tip!!! thank you for that. I have been trying to do it on the lid to cover my lashes at the base where the mascara doesn't cover. This is so useful! Also, for slightly less fair red heads, or maybe more auburn, I heard once to use a matte-plum colour for brows (usually in an eyeshadow) and this worked for me as the blonde and browns were never quite right.

I also find it's a struggle for foundations as so many have a yellow undertone instead of the pinkish undertone I have... and eye makeup... I love the smokey looks but I look like I was punched in the eye (my husbands statement)

I started with that soap and glory eyebrow pencil but I got it in brown and it looks so much better if you're eyebrows are darker than your hair . I'm ginger never dyed my hair but I tint my eyebrows a dark brown and it just gives a really good look

The blond eye brow pencil by maybelline actually has a tad of ginger tone in it ... it might work for you. I actually use that and then dark brown at the end/tail of my brows. It's not a perfect match or anything but it looks natural enough on me... I used to also go in afterward with the auburn pencil by maybelline with light strokes to give it a redder tone but stores around here stopped selling that one unfortunately. I hate when pencils look orange!

I'm a redhead over 60 years old and I never touched my eyebrows until a couple of years ago. Most of my eyebrows hairs are now white! I use Revolution Beauty's Micro pencil in Dark Auburn and then brush them. The color comes out better than ALL of the others I have tried, and I have tried a lot!!

I'm strawberry blonde so my brows are invisible! Anyway, I think you could darken your brows up a bit though. Brow powders by Tarte work really well for me.

Thank you so much for this video! Us redheads have got to stick together! The part of this video I identified most with was when you were talking about that thin white band that you get when using mascara (I hate that!) with these basically colorless eyelashes, lol. I have sensitive eyes and skin (comes with the territory, right?) and have yet to master tight lining. I tried to tint my lashes years ago, had them done at a salon. The tint didn't take though and was basically undetectable so I haven't tried it again, I think I will give it a go, sounds like better options may be availabe! Thanks again! Also, your tips on eyebrows were spot on!

But do it at a salon you trust to get it right - i've had one or two bad experiences where I had to get it done at a new place because my usual was all booked up. Tightlining is one of those makeup horrors but if you can master it it will change your makeup game!

I have light blond eyebrows, since I was more blond than ginger when I was young, but now my hair is just a little bit lighter than yours. I dye my eyebrows now, in light brown and I fill them in with light brown powder and that seems to work pretty well. I would suggest to go for a warm toned light brown, instead of blond, since that tends to be more cool toned. For the rest of my face, I never go for orange shades, more brown/copper, because I don't want to look like an oompaloompa ;) and I don't wear ant foundation because my skin looks good as it is and I love my freckles way too much to hide them ;) just go with the flow and experiment, and make sure you hair is healthy because that's the first thing people look at. And never forget to love what nature gave you! ❤️❤️❤️

I don't necessarily agree with the whole eyebrows thing. I have naturally red hair and I use covergirl brow and eyemakers in the colour "515 honey brown". It definitely has an orange tone to it but it matches my hair perfectly. Every time i tell people i colour them in they had no idea and would have never thought i filled them in. Maybe it looks unnatural to some people, but personally I love the look of my bold eyebrows !

For strawberry blonde-ish hair, colourpop's dope taupe brow products work really well for me! I was intimidated by how dark it seemed on the website, and after I tried out the pencil + brow pot and blended accordingly, it looked so nice and natural. Both products were very affordable as well. I hope this helps someone out, I couldn't figure out eyebrows at all until last year lmao
