We love our northern lights generator. It's the only way to keep the batteries charged when we are on anchorage in cloudy weather, only way to use the HVAC if we are desperately hot or cold, and the best way to heat our water for a warm shower. Yes, we have 1200 watts solar, but it's not enough. KEEP your generator!
Of course it needs maintenance and repairs. In this video, we cover 5 essential repairs we recently did. And as usual, Stephen got bloody doing it.

Probably gained half a knot with all the wind resistance on a huge solar bracket after removing the gen😂. I believe a gen is always a good redundancy option even if you got everything else to supply the wattage needs on a boat

You own my favourite catamaran of all that are out there the Leopards 48 . Thank you for you vids sharing experiences and maintenance done. How often are the parts no longer available and a substitute is needed and how often are substitutes not so easy to find ?.kind regards Louis

Parts manual is very detailed. Leopard has good service person in Florida that can help with sourcing. Occasionally the parts are no longer manufactured and we do end up having to find something else. No different than many boats out there.

Did you use an oil filter on the fuel line? I had to rewind the vid and slow it down to make sure of what i saw ..

Generator has 2 fuel filters. One is standard racor located near fuel tank. Second is a screw on filter on engine itself which looks like an oil filter but it is in fact a fuel filter
