Shiso actually gives you an artifact, not experience points. It's a little unintuitive though because you don't actually get the artifact until you get to the victory screen for the next battle.

Very informative video! I´m like 40 hours in this game and i still can´t get through the level 3 bosses (stuck to saffron for ever i guess). Figured most of this stuff out by myself, but you really bring the basics into perspective for less experienced player in the genre. Keep it up, you got yourself a new subsciber! :)

Thanks for watching I really appreciate it! You can do it! Just stick with it. Try really focusing on avoiding taking damage instead of dealing damage and I think that will bring your game to a whole new level. Don't be afraid to just spend 10 min vs a boss letting them attack you so you can learn how to dodge
@tiglionabbit4 жыл бұрын
Good luck! You'll learn those boss patterns eventually. Personally I think it's worth it to focus on unlocking Selicy. I do a lot better at the game when I play as her.

Hello! Great advice you gave on the newer players, I've been playing for a while and at the 5th tip where you said the Obeamer sometimes shoots a beam after the 3x3 attack it's actually one of the later tiers/stages that make enemies stronger (This can be seen how they have a different color palette, an example is the red ones are late tier enemies and they hit pretty hard but their patterns can be read easily because it just adds either another attack to their pattern or something completely different)
@purplatypus74054 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching I really appreciate it! Yeah I have a bit more experience now and have seen that later enemies add more to their attacks and can mix things up quite a bit

@tokabe38263 жыл бұрын
Well that's surprising, just beat the game with a pacifist run second day in. Decided to go for a tank build that diverged into poison and fire/ice using shield character. Overall before that run I'd done less than a dozen runs and hadn't gotten past the 4th area, granted I was having fun with violin person.

This seems pretty wack, am I wrong? To clarify I haven't played a game of this style before, with closest similarity being enter the gungeon I guess, as well as I play a bit of osu!
@KingdomKey-ik4xk9 ай бұрын
I feel like some of the spells that have trade-offs are worth it for the damage it deals or the buffs you get on Flow or Trinity. There's a spell that gives you shield for each Broken tile, so Tremor synergizes well with it. There's also a spell that gives you shield for each spell in your deck, so it's a good idea to take as many spells as you can. Sure, it's a good idea to skip out on bad rewards, but if a spell synergizes well with another in your deck, TAKE IT.

4:13 After watching Jorbz play a lot of Slay the Spire, I can say that he, more often then not, takes a card after battles. His reasoning behind this is that with a bigger deck, you can play more power cards. For those who don't know, in Spire, a power card is consumed on use and usually gives you a lasting buff during a fight. The problem with having a small deck with many power cards is that you will have many hands where you cannot block or attack, simply because you have a bunch of power cards in your hands that don't always have immediate effects. Due to the importance of scaling (growing stronger during fights), it's effective to have a big deck with about 1 power card for every 7 cards. The small decks effectively limit your scaling. That's just my insight for Spire though, and I am finding myself skipping a lot of spells in Eden, though sometimes I think I may want more for mana regen, or if I'm playing a shield heavy Reva deck and I want to shuffle my deck less to prevent the shield loss.
@purplatypus74054 жыл бұрын
That reasoning makes perfect sense. Sounds like a smart guy. I personally tend to take a lot of cards also in Eden at least however for me it's because I just find it more fun and I like how each battle will play out a little different based on the order I draw things
@luciferfak94144 жыл бұрын
As a person who played all the Megaman Battle Network games and all the Megaman Starforce games, id actually recommend the opposite, its hard to make a build focused on a certain mechanic work if u take too many spells, unlike megaman tho, here certain characters actually need to keep a big deck and certain builds are even focused on that. But in general keeping an average size deck in this seems to be the way to go unless ur going for certain loadouts
@missingno_fgc4 жыл бұрын
There's little reason to ever not take Mana Potion, 0 costs don't slow your deck down at all. Just play it immediately when you draw it, if you need it catch it and if you don't you can just ignore it and draw your next spell. It's free filler with zero downside for putting it in your deck, hell I take it just to get closer to that extra mana regen every five cards. Of course I'd rather take a more impactful card if one is offered, but if not I will always take Mana Potion over skip. The only reason I can think of to ever not take it is if you're running Flow. Of course this doesn't necessarily apply to all 0 costs, some spells have side-effects that may not make it safe to always play them immediately, but Mana Potion is an example of a card that's truly free. Also on a tangentially related note, if you notice your deck tends to be gaining mana faster than you can spend it, maybe start looking for cards that do cost a little mana but have no other reason not to play them as soon as you draw them - Focus, Anubis, Cold Snap, Shields Up, etc are handy just for making your excess mana a little more useful. Taking filler for the sake of filler honestly ain't half bad sometimes, the fact that drawing is free in this game and shuffling is not makes me really like thicc decks. In general the point stands that skipping is an option worth considering, but I don't think Mana Potion was the best example to show.
@purplatypus74054 жыл бұрын
I do agree with you 100% on a strategic point and yes had i taken the time to get a better example I for sure would have not used mana potion as my example no doubt. My only counter point to always taking mana potion for a brand new player is that it can add a second of hesitation and give you slightly more to think about when you see it pop up and its not needed at that moment. The do I need to use it, should I hold it might only take a second but felt the game is pretty overwhelming to a new player and could cause extra damage to be taken. However you are 100% right mana potion is truly free with no downside outside of very fringe situations that I cant even think of on the top of my head.

My first win i put in 3 root cards under 3 cost and all my other cards were under 2 LOL but my mana regen was 1.5 + i had the one that goves you 0.6 in slot so i just rooted everyone and went to town

I played the game for about 20 minutes and just got off because the tutorial was not useful at all. There had to be a better summary online on how to play the game. It's not cheating the story for me (if there is one) to get some quick tips. Sure, some things will come with time and practice but this was just bad. Thanks for the pointers. Didn't die on the first boss, died on the second one since I had no clue on healing, upgrading my deck, how big is my deck, how to increase mana pool, what cards are replaced at the shop, where's my currency at the shop, what passives are active during combat. I'll give it another go but I was filled with more questions than answers. ps- never played mmbn or anything similar to it. This is my first one.
