I do what you do, (last tip) use the “aperture” as a template to line up the die cut for stamping. This is the most efficient way for me, and perfect for doing batch card making. Also, if you can fit all the dies from a set on a half sheet of A4 or letter cardstock, die cut them all out together so you have a template for all the stamps in the set, and can save for future purposes. For longevity, can cut your template from acetate or laminated thin paper, and then use as a stencil too!

I've always used a variation of that final method: Place printer paper onto the magnetic platform. Cut the shape from cardstock. Place the negative onto the platform into the corner so it won't move, securing with magnets. Place the stamp on the lid & stamp onto the printer paper to check the placement, adjusting/restamping as needed. When placement is perfect, place the die cut piece into the hole and stamp. No need to remove the thin printer paper. This works well for mass production.

Great tips! It’s nice to have them all in one video. Thanks for giving credit to the creators whose tips you used. Have a lovely day/night (whatever part you’re heading into when you read this).

All are good tips for the many ways crafters may want to stamp and die cut. Thanks for putting them all together in one video. I like using the second die cut from another piece of paper, then finding that perfect outline on the image, then putting the die back in like a puzzle piece. If making lots of the image, I like putting the blank shapes into an already die cut piece of paper in the MISTI, or another positioner. Thanks again!

Great tips Lou, I use the last tip a lot, however, I line up the stamp within the aperture and then place the die cut back in.

I bought a stamp/die set from temu (won't buy from them again) and had terrible problems lining them up. I used your first tip and it worked great. Thank you for saving me paper, ink, and tins of frustration!

Great tips Lou I use 1-4 but the 5th is new. On tip 3 I used different coloured nail varnish so I know which stamps and dies go together. Great for word dies and stamps as they can be difficult to see backwards. I use a mirror to help reverse the words in the first place. I also put arrows on word stamps mostly rubber ones so that I get them the right way up as sometimes it is difficult to tell. xx

Interesting ways to line up stamps and dies. Depending on what I am stamping/die cutting, I either eyeball it or do your last method.

Hi Lou love this it was very helpful to me. I have looked for the made to surprise florals and the apple blossom ones you showed, but I can’t find them. Please can you send me the link to these sets as I would love to buy them. Xx

Comprehensive range of tips here .... ...a sticky background in your stamping tool might help, eliminating the use of magnets as, I found, these can sometimes get in the way. Thanks for the information vid. :)

Thank you so much for this, I love stamps and dies but got to the point I hated them together. Simon’s method doesn’t work for me. I am going to go with your final suggestion if there is enough “waste” around the edges, if not the template method.

I regularly use 1st tip. The 2nd tip seems a bit too risky for me. I liked the effects from the last demo - the one with the 2 different coloured card, it has the added benefit of adding some dimension
