That was refreshing. I hate to go to a store In America and have someone who does not care for me ask me how I am doing. I just say hello and shop. I wish they would just say hello and be grateful for my business. Once for fun when I went to a store and a man asked me how I was doing, so I actually started to tell him about my problems and what was going on in my life. When I was finished my 4 year old little sister starting talking to him about her dolls. We worked him over. Next time we went to the store he just said hello. I also hate the fake smile for photos that frequently occurs. Thank you for honesty.

As an American with German Family Overseas I can personally say that Germans are the same about small talk and small talking is something that I've had to learn in Anglo-American society, and it honestly felt weird at first. Even when asked "how are you doing?" I will tell the person exactly how my day is and I will tell them that it's crappy and miserable if it really is.

I am a bit surprised that these facts are quite similar to Turkish culture and people. F1: Different, generally we like small talk but that seems to be changing with the new generation F2: Same F3: Same F4: Same F5: Close, some people living in big cities rent hobby gardens and they farm

i work for an american company and i hate all these fake empathy and small talks. why can't we just get on with business and stop wasting each other's time. well maybe i'm a russian in another life. maybe it's because russia is near asia that it carries the same culture of barefoot/slippers inside the house/apartment.
