I worked for Fed Ex for a year and a half. Most of the time it wasn't bad, but from about mid October to mid January we always got slammed and our trucks were nearly overflowing. And people got meaner the closer to Christmas it got, which really pissed me off because Christmas is supposed to be about spreading joy and happiness, right? It was crazy how mean and rude people are when their package was days late, as if I had control over when I got the package. My truck was always breaking down, and I was frequently delivering out of moving trucks, which made my job slower and more frustrating. I would frequently have to drive over an hour to deliver only one package. One time I was delivering out of a UHaul, and I was always being laughed at and asked why I was driving it. Finally I got so tired of it I started telling people that Fed Ex and UHaul are merging, and they were going to call the company EffU. This one lady's eyes bulged and she asked, "Are you serious? That's horrible!" My truck developed a carbon monoxide leak, which my boss denied, and I got carbon monoxide poisoning and was sick for 3 months, and eventually got fired. I have a tremendous amount of respect for delivery drivers. It's a thankless job. So please whenever you encounter the mailman/woman or another delivery driver, give them a smile and a wave and tell them they are appreciated. That can go a long way in helping motivate them to keep working hard to get you your packages.

I have a question. People, especially older people, say: The more you think about it, the more inviting you become. And I know this is true from my own experience. If I listen to 2-5 videos a day for a week I'll be hearing things, seeing things and experiencing things for the next 2 weeks and then it'll slow down and eventually stop until the next period of listening to ghost stories. Do you ever experience anything yourself? Do you feel like the more you think or talk about this stuff the more weird noises you hear or shadows you see? Is there anyone else here that has the same thing happening to them?

I work for FedEx, been there 5 years as of this month. With Peak Season in full swing now, we're in at 3am, unloading 12-14 trailers (because a West Virgina hub can't handle all of their own crap, just like last year, we have to help them) in only the 4 hours that's allotted to us and it sucks...and being yelled at by drivers who think we're the scum of the earth doesn't help. The last 6 to 8 weeks of the year sucks soooo much.

@Orbb806 жыл бұрын
The weirdest thing about some of these stories is the attempt to ring the doorbell or knock. My neighborhood is not perfect, but it isn't terrible either & they NEVER knock. There are only a few hours a day (in middle of the night) when everyone home is likely to be asleep. UPS & USPS are the same, everyone just puts your packages near-ish the porch. Side note, none of them can read, I'm in a subdivision, which means all the streets use the same house numbers, it's only the street names that are different, a significant percentage of the time (especially from Fed Ex) my packages are delivered to the wrong house. I really miss the days when they had to use your weird name talking to people & made you sign for the damned thing. I get so tired of them disavowing any responsibility after delivery when their truck was NEVER on my street as I was watching & waiting for that delivery all damned day. So many missing package horror stories, so little time....

As a temp UPS helper I didn’t worry about the customers dogs.... I hated when the customers would show up at the door wrapped in just a towel..... TMI. I hated it when special accommodations were made for the customers and we waited at some crossroads in below freezing snowing windy cold for 30 minutes.. finally calling them only to find out they decided to not come or just forgot. I hated it when we would deliver in a rural community to an isolated rental farm house and the meth addicts would reluctantly answer the door mistaking our brown uniforms for those of the local sheriff deputies. That could have gone either way. I hated delivering to a rural foster care home. Filthy children running around the yard dressed inappropriately for the weather. The foster “mom” complaining about the boxes and boxes and boxes of supply’s we brought to her door. I loved regular customers who gave us a little bag of homemade cookies. I loved the big fat Labrador that ran uphill for half a mile in order to get his biscuit from the driver. I laughed when the driver drove me right up to farmer customers porch so I could get the package to the door and back to the truck before the farm dog knew we were there and decided we were a threat and came looking for blood. Carrying 40 lbs of computer paper through knee deep snow and ice. Not so much. Or making the last delivery of the day in a brutal ice and wind storm...the empty truck was like a huge sail and the wind slowly blew the truck sideways down the ice covered road..... despite the driver sat on the breaks but did no good. whew.... we made it though. Something different all the time.

FedEx nightmare: delivering to Park Ave in Brooklyn. Why? It's across from the projects, and obviously you're going to be accused of not delivering the package because it was stolen. And it doesn't need to be around the holidays; those shitbags will steal your stuff 365. Fact check: I was living there for work; my mail was stolen directly out of my locked mailbox (thanks to the property manager, who hates anyone non Hispanic) and my neighbour upstairs had her packages stolen twice by the people in the rent control apartment below hers. The evidence was ultimately destroyed (the boxes were in their trash FFS) by the property manager. Folks, you don't want to live at 747 Park Ave in Brooklyn.
