if the Hydrants are going missing, ya may want to keep a sharper eye on the rail road tracks like especially near the Times distribution center near the 4th street LA bridge, lost of folks go there for photo shoots but as you walk the track you can see the rail road nails are lifted and some missing.

The city of Norwalk is very diverse , I go there regularly and see the greatness of the diversity. Utah needs more diversity then their citizens can have their hydrants stolen, few more years !

Talk about stupid. Scrap metal is at an all time low now. Could have made more picking up aluminum beer and soda cans. Sounds more like a drunken bender to me. Not like you can go to any recycling facility and turn in a fire hydrant. At least in my state, all transactions have to be documented. As well as being subjected to monitoring, much like a pawnshop. Just like catalytic converter thefts. No legitimate recycling facility would take them in without proper documentation.

Here in the red States where there's more Law and Order scrap companies will not purchase fire hydrants. They're on the list of items that are not they're not allowed to buy as scrap. For fear that they will get in trouble with the law also they're supposed to report anyone who tries to scrap a fire hydrant I guess you can't get your scrap people in those blue states to cooperate
