Do we use the intellectus to intuit being? Is the term identity a synonym for essence? What about Plato and Proclus who say that One is prior to Being, Intelligence and life? When I intuit being, is it my being I intuit, the objects being, both or neither ( or all). What relation does this intuition of being have to do with Exodus 3:14? If everything is being then nothing is being. Is this is what was meant by Heidegger when he stares at his broken hammer , and all his purposes fall away, the nothing nothings and we are left with possibilities and anxiety? I have committed to rereading Gilson. Thank you.
