The pineapple didn't work for you guys, because of its state of ripeness. The pineapple in the orig video are really ripe, almost yellowish/orange, so it is really softer than the ones you tried, which are still more green in it.

The pineapple was cut wrong to start with. To remove the top you have to cut around the spikes, not straight across. Straight across makes the big mess, around the spikes is neater.

Lemme tell you guys, the pineapple trick only works for very ripe and almost soft pineapples. Trust me, I'm from a tropical country and we eat pineapples all year round. Also, please don't discard the cores, you can make juice and homemade candy from it. It breaks my hear when people discard the core like it's not even that hard, it's just too pulpy
