So much to say because I’m Asian and I do watch CBA & Taiwan’s league so I know it all. First and foremost, the only player that really dominating the oversea from the clip is Eric Bledsoe. He brings lots of impact to Shanghai Shark, team been winning since he joined/play and he is been very consistent he could also be the best import player this season. Follow by Thon Maker, not quite dominating but he is been consistent & solid because he can offend and defend. Nope, Cook doesn’t dominate in CBA at all he only had one great game which was that 50+pts that’s it and he has been released by Guangsha due to his poor attitude and subpar performance after that first good game. Tacko Fall certainly did not dominate in CBA at all, if anything he is basically learning how to play a good bball in Xinjiang. If anyone watch his game in CBA, y’all will know why he isn’t in the NBA right now. Dwight wise, he wasn’t quite dominate in Taiwan either. His athleticism is great, certainly wow lots of people esp given that he is already close to 40yo and also import players there can’t jump as high as him. Unfortunately to his limited offensive skill, he couldn’t impact the game esp when his teammates aren’t good at all. Thank You.

I'm a BYU fan, so if I could ask whats your opinion on Jimmer Fredette? Pretty much every NBA guys has forgotten about him, but he dominated in China didn't he?
@TimmyT624
@TimmyT624 Жыл бұрын
@@bowmain1577 oh yea Jimmer Fredette was good, I was really hoping he could have a successful career in CBA after Marbury unfortunately he failed to lead his team Shanghai to have a deep run in playoff. If u talk abt individual dominance and impact, he was that guy he was a lethal scoring machine and crazy 3pt shooter. Partially can blame the team roster (local players) was pretty bad, also as we all know Jimmer was just a pure scorer but not leader and couldn’t do other things.

@@bowmain1577 Agree. Was hoping he finally earn a spot in NBA when he made a return years ago but fell short yet again. Esp in this new heavy 3pt shooting era, he as a 3pt specialist should be wanted in NBA bt why none of 30teams sign him. When given opportunity, he was struggle to shoot a 3s. That’s just weird, team didn’t give him enough time to prove himself or his mental just not there.

It is insane to me they expect Taco to have a shot. Teach him to dominate the post. Make him play against the other teams B squad. Punish them in the post if they even try small ball. I don't get why players above 7'2 can't shoot the rim is like 3 inches away from their heads
@demarkusondatrack5646
@demarkusondatrack5646 Жыл бұрын
That’s partially why. They’re so close to the rim they lack arc on their shot. So they have to shoot higher which generally gives you a lesser chance of making it by default. Which is why 7 footers who can shoot are a rare commodity. And that also doesn’t take into account their hands, they generally have huge hands (too huge) so they don’t have full flick on the ball when shooting. Imagine trying to shoot a tennis ball with two hands into a small basket (pretty uncomfortable). Generally the big men. That CAN shoot like Dirk, Kevin Durant, Kristaps Porzingis, etc have smaller hands so they have more control of the flick in their shot motion
@1highvelocity1
@1highvelocity1 Жыл бұрын
@@demarkusondatrack5646 then why are they so ass in general? The rim is still right there just dunk the shit it's like playing on a little rim on the back of your door I would be cooking
@demarkusondatrack5646
@demarkusondatrack5646 Жыл бұрын
@@1highvelocity1 The situation varies depending on the player. Right now, bigs in general have to be offensively versatile to be able to score, defend(the perimeter and the paint) and ball handle(which is becoming more and more common as time passes). Dudes past 7’2 generally are slower because of their size, genetics or based on the chance they’re only that tall because they have a disorder. Plus they are generally less coordinated. That’s why Victor wembanyama is a highly touted prospect he’s smooth and fluid and doesn’t have the usual janky-ness of someone that size. It’s probably due to the fact that his height is natural and not due to a disorder. He also said it might’ve been due to him growing gradually and not having massive growth spurts that his body isn’t used to like other individuals his size. But that’s the physical side, coaches and NBA teams want a versatile and mobile big, which most player 7’4+ players don’t have. Either that or they’re afraid of them being injury prone(which is common) so Teams generally don’t want to take the chance on such an anomaly or if they do, they don’t get that much playing time for a while regardless of their skill or potential. Just how it is because they’re so many factors that have to be considered

Thon does not have the skills to score off one or two dribbles and that is why he failed in the NBA. High schools are geared toward making stars off mediocre players because they are the focus of the team offense. The rest of the teammates work for the benefit of the star player. Go look at all the star players in the NBA and you will see that most made the mark off the ball. When you can play off the ball, you will shine in any situation, and given the chance to handle the ball more, you are a star.

I mean... Sure Jokic, Doncic, future pick Wenbanyama, Markkanen, Sabonis, Giannis, etc (what you would refer to "foreign players" came from.... European leagues...) So yeah that's really shiny to play well in a "bad" league. So DOMINATING... is really a poor domination here. I would call that sealclubbing... but yeah...
