Dr, My husband and I we have been doing this ( 5 points) mentioned by you with our 11 yrs old Son since his childhood. 1) Giving & Sharing: I pack extra food or snacks in his tiffin box to share with his friends. I pack prasadams on festivals and give him the job to give it to our neighbours , Security & Utility services staff. 2) Reading Books : We got our son into reading books by introducing him to Kids series like Dog Man and Wimpy Kid. Now he reads books about India, world countries, flag’s evolution ,cultures etc. He recognises about 135 odd countries flags & how the countries got their flag colours. He always asks questions to us Mamma “ Did you know that “ , “ Did you knew this” , we are also learning a lot from him. 3) Our Son is into Cricket. He is learning & playing for his school. The reason for putting him into sports is that he will have physical activity, health and fitness for the rest of his life. This will help him to stay active. 4) We ask our son about his school activities for the day at the dinning table. What was the best thing happened on that day in school or fun thing happened. He shares and we appreciate him for the efforts he had put him on that day, be it sports or school activities, study or exams. 5) We always encourage our son to try new. We have travelled around 13 to 14 countries along with him. Every time we go to a new country we try the food, adventure activities, culture etc. He did the longest Zip line in Hanuman World, Phuket when he was just 6 yrs old. We encouraged him by doing it our selves. We have always done this & will continue to do so as this will help him to appreciate people, culture food habits. He will be open to new challenges in his life. Thank you.
