You do realize at this point that you are a superstar right? Girl you are so cute and so up beat and so well spoken and so honest That we all want more of what you have to say! I have been doing fly lady for only a couple of months And you are my motivation! I hope you can harness that popularity and that ability to connect with people and make a living off of it. Thank you for doing what you do and please don't stop. We love you!

I've had no motivation for months. After watching a wide variety of decluttering and minimalist videos, I finally dug deep and found my motivation. Last Tuesday, I gave away 3/4 of my stuff, which included furniture, decor & books. I've since cleaned out paper clutter and have dropped off 7 bags of shredded papers & 7 bags of magazines & catalogs to a paper recycling place. Next up is sentimental items. Now that I've cleaned out so much, my place is easier to clean & keep clean. I feel lighter, happier & more optimistic than I have all year. The county I live in in Southern California has just gone into lockdown for the 3rd time, so it will give me more time to clean out & clean up my place. 👍

😢I needed to hear these so much today!! I'm so incredibly overwhelmed!! I had to leave a career that I loved, when my daughter was 2y/o , and go on disability because of a myriad of orthopaedic problems. When that happened, I became depressed and filled the empty space in my life with stuff and now I'm drowning trying to get rid of most of it. Your message and channel have been a saving grace to me. I’m a full time working wife and mom of 5. The FlyLady system and your tips have helped me to stay sane getting my house back on track. I actually did have to hire someone to help me out in my weekly home blessing and zone cleaning. Everything still doesn’t get finished every week, but my house is looking sooooo much better. Thanks so much for the encouragement in your videos. ❤️ #progressnotperfection

I love how you say to hire someone to clean your house! I did this and it’s been a game changer! I have 3 small kids and it’s HARD. I felt so much guilt about having to hire someone, because I felt like I should be able to keep up. But hiring someone to get the deep cleaning done has allowed me to keep the daily chores done without feeling overwhelmed.

You are right about the priorities, don't set yourself up for "failure" by expecting too much. Apart from that: failure doesn't exist, it is a label other people put on you to distract from themselves. It's just a learning process that makes you grow. If you are a mess today: celebrate every little step. Getting out of bed: 🥳! Teeth brushed: 🥳! Shower: 🥳! One dish washed: 🥳! The more you celebrate the better you feel, even with just a smile or a little dance. Do the cheering you would do for other people when you know they are struggling. If other people find that ridiculous: they aren't walking in your shoes, you are. And you deserve cheering when this walk is hard.

When I pack the diaper bag for my "crazy" day, I literally pack like I am walking out the door that very second. Formula and bottles water for the bitty baby, diapers and wipes, clean clothes, underwear. My kids dance clothes and shoes. I even make their sippy cups in advance and put them in the fridge so I can just grab and go. You wouldn't think so, but that sippy cup ready and waiting in the fridge is a life saver. And I lay out the clothes. Bc, maybe my kids will cooperate in the morning so we can leave in peace....but maybe they won't😂

So true... The " looking after myself" is so important and should be a priority... I couldn't do that and it is still missing in my life because I am in survival mode since 15 yrs...due to a terrible marriage, sick kids in and out of hospital or off school 60 days a year! and a bad job situation (mainly only men who don't care that you are a mum as well as an employee.. And where overtime is normal and not compensated for and where they break all the rules put in place to protect working mums making you work outside working times and on your non work days)...Now, due to all this, I have burn out and exhaustive depression...and as a single working mum going through divorce have no time to look after me... On the occasions my kids go to their father.. I am ill due to exhaustion that catches up with me or if I am not ill I am decluttering, catching up on housework, my job stuff and trying to sort stuff for my divorce... A living nightmare!.. With covid it is worse.. Not being able to go home to the UK to tank some energy seeing family and friends😢. And no friends to help here in Germany where I live at present!...because they have older kids and work and due to Covid we can't meet even if we wanted to... Life is just a miserable hell... I pray I come out the other side alive!... Because my kids still need me! So.. Good for you for pointing out the self care issue... And good for you that you can squeeze it in... That is my goal... Once the decluttering and divorce is sorted... Taking time to focus on me again for the first time in over a decade!

I have thought the same thing: women keep piling thing after thing on themselves until it's more than anyone could possibly do, then wonder why they're tired or getting behind - it breaks your heart to see it. So many of my friends do this, especially young moms. I used to think it was just that I am lazy ... well, occasionally I am, but mostly it's just that I gravitate towards a balance, at least at my point in life, LOL. So recognize the overwhelming feeling with so many yes’s! I have a truly best friend that we share those moments with laughs and tears. We call it our ladies night out....She’s in Virginia and I am Maryland but it is often feels we are next to each other. Although we may each of had “bless” days not overwhelming as my Mom who had ten of us children would remind us. We were a military family and then I joined the military for twenty years and had to real shift to being at home and carving out the time for the chores, self care with not only getting dress but maybe taking a course or just a simple nap. I do use a handy inexpensive note pad from Target. You get packs of three or four. This has been a big game changer. You are truly with a kind heart reaching and affirming to many young families especially it okay not to be Pinterest or Martha Stewart gals. Love this video in 2020....validating and confirming to many they are doing their best not perfection

This is SO good! I’m a teacher, and during the summer (or during the school shut-down this past spring) I always underestimate how much of my day’s energy and willpower is taken up by school. Dishes, clothing, and taking care of myself...everything else is extra! If I can hit a daily hot spot and do a weekly home blessing, fantastic, but not required in those extra-hard weeks! This is “temporary,” or at least, one stage of the year-long cycle of teaching. You have such a way of clearing out the mental clutter and getting straight to the important stuff! Thank you!!!

I don’t feel overwhelmed but my health is not great so every now and then I just can’t clean. My apartment is super small so I just hired someone to come once a week and spend two hours cleaning it from top to bottom. This way all I have to do is dishes and laundry, and I got into the habit of putting everything back into its place after I use it so there’s no clutter ever. That brings sooo much peace of mind.

Great message! So very true. Having raised 6 children and now a grandson- I didn’t always take care of myself.. I regret it now. Do something for yourself each day . Exercise, do your hair , or even just a ten minute power nap... so you can care of others... great job Steph.

Thku it would be great to have someone like u that would come on each morning just for a in the moment unscripted pep talk. Like a best friend or motherly role model that we could go to youtube each morning to get that spiritual encouragement. Many of us dont have those kind of relationships and each morning i need that. I recently lost my husband unexpected death dealing w that this pandemic and life i look for that motivation each morning but dont have it. It would be great for u w building your relationships w viewers.

I'm a new Mum, I have a week old baby after an unplanned csection. I'm wondering what it's going to be like next week when my very supportive Husband goes back to work. Videos like this are going to help so much. 😊

Great tips. I especially agree with having a shower & getting dressed first thing in the morning. I can never understand why some people just wear pyjamas all day. I couldn’t do that, especially if I hadn’t had a shower/wash.

They were for me too until I set up a routine. One load from start to finish every day. Unload dishwasher in morning and quickly rinse and load after meals. Start dishwasher before bed.

When my children were little, I was so exhausted all of the time, I finally had to do something about it. I started getting massages which made all of the difference. I went worn out and exhausted, and came home refreshed, renewed, and ready to tackle the rest of the day. As they got into school , I had everything ready the night before, and I got up an hour earlier then my children to have some quiet time and a cup of coffee in peace. Our mornings were always so calm....it was lovely. tfs 🍃🍂🍁🌵🍃🍂🍁🌵🍃🍂🍁🌵🍃🍂🍁🌵🍃🍂🍁🌵🍃🍂🍁🌵🍃🍂🍁🌵🍃🍂🍁🌵🍃🍂🍁🌵🍃🍂🍁🌵
