I've quit KoT a while ago, but I still do watch your KoT videos every time you uploaded something new. I really love your videos and how people are making new and awesome the bases. The game is just abandoned by them; I remember when every updates feels like really big and impactful. I remember when unique gems are actually obtainable, and you would use it in a normal ritual with extra effects, that was really really cool. It's honestly very unfortunate how the game has become, it feels like a money grab now, ads are everywhere, every event have ads, and the king of kings league is just filled with accounts that uses bots to play.

Well, the new bases are pretty good (I eecorded a dozen or so already) but what you described is also my main problem now: my audience started watching me as kids, now they're young adults and are interested in other games. I like other games too and I was trying to change my content accordingly over the past 2-3 years. But nobody ever watches my "other" content. I get views like when I was back to under 100 subs and it's hard to find motivation. I always thought "in a few years, I might be able to make a living off KZbin", but seeing even channels with +700k subs struggle as they're not providing "that new TikTok crap that KZbin thinks is cool now" makes me doubt that I will ever reach that goal. Glad you're still here though 😅

Yeah, when I recorded this video, I re-recorded the intro with the title screen … and I noticed Zeptolab took out the bit "Want to learn new techniques? Subscribe to our KZbin channel." I offered to re-edit my videos for them once - they offered orbs in return, apparently doing KZbin videos isn't worth any money. I also applied for a video editor job at their Barcelona office once - but the didn't even reply or invite me to an interview. I signed up for their "creator program", expecting to get advanced notice when new features were planned or behind the scene stuff - but never heard back from them. They suck a bit at social media, and that's not only because their Ukranian social media manager has left the Moscow office a while ago 🙄

Yeah, I got pretty much everything in place now (after basically spending a YEAR under my new studio desk, laying cables and making plans to improve my setup, while saving up for new gear). Stopping King of Thieves should give me some extra 12 hours per week (I still have a fulltime day job, so I basically worked like 70 hours per week for the last couple of months) and I already got some ideas what to try next with my synths.

Not gonna lie, G3CD has been around for a long time, since I was in elementary. He spends a lot of time doing things he loves and doesn't get recognition for it. For the king of thieves community this is honestly a major blow. Sucks knowing such an OG like him wont return for a good bit considering Zeptolab fails to add in more features. I like how G3CD acknowledged he doesn't profit much off this if not any at all, yet he continues to do what he wants to do and I think that is amazing, keep doing what you love bro.

I mean, I still play it a lot, but … there have been things like the BIG ACCOUNT PURGE where every decent player wasn't able to access his account for 4 weeks as this seemed to have super low priority at Zeptolab, Moscow. Or stopping the King's Grace subscription that allowed serious player to play more or less without ads - then took a year to be replaced by something half as useful and twice as expensive. Over time, this made me less enthusiastic about the game. And seeing great player leave, like Cocktale, or even Kaos, didn't make things better.

This video reminded me of a dream I had a few months ago, I was playing King of Thieves on my phone, there were these really weird layouts that seemed impossible but there were new traps and objects like parts of the map you could move around, teleporters, reusable gravity flip, a fly that could follow you through the wall, bases with like 6 traps, I don't remember the rest very well... And when I woke up I just sat there and thought: ‘‘Wow, the base game is actually pretty boring when you think about it’’

I somehow really love those bases, it's like discovering the game again. Ending kot videos with this specific one is a good choice. I think I understand what you mean at the end, in kot you have to spend so much time to obtain what you want. So, when I have a good base and no more rituals available, I become so lazy in going to the next one and creating something good enough again. I only appreciate the process of finding an interesting idea, understanding how to make it and then seeing how people die in my dungeon. What I don’t enjoy is doing so many attempts for a while to save the dungeon.

Hey, thanks! I mean … King of Thieves is a really cool game and much underrated, I also still play it a lot and enjoy it (just not the grind that goes into making the videos). But unlike other Fortnite for example, that basically re-invents the game every couple of months with new features and skins as well as co-ops with artists and other games, Zeptolab decided to milk a cow way past its death. That's a bit of a pity. Let's how the exile London office does better than it's soviet predecessor.

I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy trying my base. Although I know that my base is not very creative, it took me a long time to save so i thought it would be a challenge for you as well. Personally, I like overcoming problems, which is fun for me so I can sit hours without getting bored. However, it seems like you are different and I respect your choices. Furthermore, I totally agree that these Hacked bases are very interesting and provide more room for creativity. I really like the idea of saws, platforms, chests being altered. I also find the radius 2 red guard very cool. Even though you are quitting kot now, maybe when there are more updates in the future. I am sure you will come back to KoT. Haha, I really LIKED your base … but it was very late, I was very tired, I wanted to finish the recording quickly … and then I tried it for well over 3 hours and even though I did get quite good at it, I ALWAYS died in the very end (I think I jumped off the right wall too late, even in this last attempt). I had thought about quitting King of Thieves earlier as there weren't any innovations in YEARS - even though the recent mass of events made it easier to play the game without paying and also got me a few free orbs and keys. But it still got boring.

Yeah, I got a PS5 two month ago and had hoped that playing "blockbusters" would help my channel as it was losing subs as everyone was losing interest in KoT. Turns out the KZbin algorithm punishes you for diverse content as it thinks "oh, that PS5 game got only 1/10 of the KoT views, I think this channel is own a downturn and I'll recommend it EIGHTY PERCENT less". So the question was: start a new channel from scratch, with zero subs and all the grind, while at the same time maintaining my (more and more unloved) KoT channel? Or try to turn my existing channel into something more satisfying?

I wondered what drove you to keep making these guides, but I guess now I know, and I know why it no longer drives you. What drove me? 1) I really liked this game, but it got boring (the most recent bases are pretty good though and I see tons of surprising layouts, I just wish there were new traps and they'd nerf the Warder as it's OP) 2) I wanted to make a living off KZbin one day. But even with 3 KoT videos per week (and some others), I lost subscribers and my ad revenue is now down to less than 30€ per month. That's very little money for 60 hours of work. I'm still playing KoT daily, but I'm making videos about games now that I enjoy more. And actually my most successful non-KoT video recently has been a music and synths video.

it's sad to see you go, but at the same time completely understandable. I hope you find that enjoyment that you're looking for. If you want, i also have a game suggestion: Cosmoteer. Very Very fun game with a lovely community, and there's a sizable modding community as well. The campaign's fun, or so i've been told (i haven't tried the campaign lol). There's also a nice pvp community, which i've been a part of for a long time. Please try it out! There's a demo for the campaign on the steam page as well.

It’s unfortunate that Zepto lab has neglected what the players really want and has not evolved the game at all. Your decision is completely understandable and sadly I feel it was inevitable. I love the game too and will likely continue until I pass EvilDracur and Zedoop since I never thought I could ever get my account to that level (and I am really close). You will be missed. Yeah, and these hacked bases have been the highest resolution videos I ever uploaded. I mught return of Zeptolab does new traps or bases ... it's just not fun to search for surprising, new layouts when everyone asking to check his base in comments is level 20 or less.

Haha, I still enjoy playing the game … during a break, or while waiting for a bus, or on the train. It's just that there's so much pressure finding creative, inspiring bases every week, while most comments "test my base please" are from sub level 20 players. And you can always do what I do: get random traps and try to combine 2-3 existing layouts from my website g3cd.com into one new, grand solution (I only get something really amazing like once or twice a year, but totally worth it).

Cool! I love it when somebody actually had the practice, discipline and dedication to get good at the game (instead of asking "Can you save my base? I'm a rich kid in Arabia and I will pay good money!"). I mean, I'm old, I'm slow, I gained too much weight during lockdown … but I always stick to something and try a bit harder than everyone else and in the end, this makes me self-confident and better than most of the rest. It's really rewarding to "get good", no matter what you do.

Yeah, that creative mod is really impressive, also the recent bases are exactly what I asked for for three years (open spaces, boards, antigravity and pads). I still play a lot of King of Thieves, too. BUT: my audience got older, a lot of my viewers started viewing when they were like 12 and just aren't playing an 8 year old mobile gaming any longer. So even when grinding out 3 KoT videos a week, my subscriber numbers dropped as less and less people were interested in this game. So I MUST change my content or my channel will die. Luckily, I'm interested in other games too, same as many viewers.

Well, I'm struggling. I lost subs before I quit KoT, I lost about 100 subs SINCE I quit KoT, while producing about 50 videos at the same time. My ad revenue dropped under 30€ per month. It's hard to motivate yourself when there is no obvious reward, I guess you can only do this when you really like what you're doing. Which is why I'm doing different vids now.

I am surprised you even made videos of kot for this long. I've watched a ton of your videos. Many times just to see what is possible and some to use for my own base. I have enjoyed every singel one of the videos. The short but clear edeting and explanation of the videos is what makes them great and stand out. Other kot videos were no commentairy videos with some random music over them. It's sad to see this go but also understandable. I wish you the best of luck in the future and hope your viewers will shift to the other videos you make. It's sad to see that the other videos you make perform so poorly while it's just the same kind of great video. I love the puzzle games you play/played like baba is you. We will miss you!

I got a key for Polybridge 3, I gotta play this some more! And maybe Viewfinder, which just came out and is very unique. And maybe Toki Tori 2, which looks like a kid's game with cute birds, but gets EVIL pretty fast 😂 So more puzzle game vids in the planning!

No idea - KZbin pretty much abandoned its creators and now promotes only TikTok style videos. My recommendations went down from 200k to less than 50k in the last 9 months, that's why I GOT TO DO something if my channel is to survive (and betting on a 8 year old mobile game that is ranking #12,294 in the US Google Play store doesn't seem like a very good bet). Luckily I'm not dependent on KZbin as I got a decent day time job, so I can just try out new things and poop on the algorithm 😂

it's sad to see you leave the game, I had recently come back because of your videos, I don't know for others but for me it's fun, in 30 days, I invested ~50usd, but something happened to me this week. I got discouraged when in the middle of the night I took 4 attacks from people going over all my traps and it was harmful to me because I lost a 280k gem and I couldn't recover, not even the clan, it was frustrating

I stopped paying for the game like 2 years ago. Well, involuntary since they stopped the "King's Grace" subscription that basically allowed me to play ad-free for 2 hours. But for 50 bucks, you can get a game like Farcry or the Witcher which is way cooler for way longer. Can't be played at a bus stop though 😉
