All praises to the Most High for your beautiful work, I especially liked the Dark complexion of the Egyptians, that is Biblically accurate. My children love the fact there was a "Superman" on the thumbnail, that drew them into wanting to watch. We play this on Sunday mornings and Saturday evenings before bed. Great observation! Delilah definitely did not act in love. And God had issued specific decrees that His chosen people Israel should preserve their holiness in part by not intermarrying with any foreign nations. (Sidenote: Any person from any nation who chose to foresake their gods and submit to the rule and reign of the God of Israel, Isaac and Jacob and the Hebrew customs would be considered Israel - for instance Rahab of Jericho and Salmon, and Ruth of Moab and Boaz). But there is no mention of that with Delilah. There were specific groups that God warned Israel to not intermarry with. However, Delilah was Samson's second Philistine wife. In the first, Judges 14:1-4 tells us that God was seeking an occasion to confront the Philistines who were indeed enemies of Israel through Samson. In the end Samson did take down the Philistines, but he lost his own life to do so because he let himself be persuaded whose god was not his God. But I think the takeaway for us today is that 2 Corinthians 6:14 tells us to not be yoked in intimate relationships or partnerships with unbelievers - i.e., those who are not following Christ. When we decide to "make things happen" in relationships with people who do not share our convictions about who God is and who Samson is we may be setting ourselves up for a fall just the same.
