Such great finds today. The pocket pottery were lovely! Pocket finds aside, I admire you for sticking to your guns on the limit. I would have been revising the limit upwards by 1 or 2! Enjoy the week ahead. ❤

Thanks so much Lisa! Yep pocket pottery is a new thing now ;) It helped to have only brought a small bag along so we didn't go over the limit !

It's an automatic gun noise from a farmers field that you're hearing Craig sounds like gunfire to scare the 🐦 from eating the new growth. I adore watching you guys. You make my Friday night 😀. Loved the finds, and to get your hands on fresh picks is really exciting. My favourite is the little refill bottles and the small jam jars ta would look so pretty with a fresh flower in them for spring. My love & blessings to you both ❤️ ♥️ Alex xxx

We have wee birds getting under the tiles in our place... I wonder if the neighbors would mind if I installed one!! LOL Thank you for that - We can stop ducking! lol So very, very glad you're enjoying the videos, so far this year... Oh! Those wee refills are lovely, the older ones with a slight blue tint in the glass are very nice... and, the jam jars! Love them! Very best wishes, hope all is very well, much love to you and yours.. Nicole & Craig xo

You had so much self control, even though I think Nicole kind of ignored the limit when it came to patterned pottery 😉! And, I don’t blame you a bit, Nicole. The bird pendant that you made was exquisite! I really loved the shiny brown glazed pottery jar. You made great choices! I was relieved to hear that the gunfire was to scare the birds. Didn’t want you two in a dangerous situation. Take care, and thank you! 🙏❤️
@scottishmudlarking Жыл бұрын
Hahah Ruth it was so difficult to only take 5 and I was happy to sneak a few pieces of pottery into my pockets ( pocket pottery is a thing now ;) ) ! Yes the gunfire here is usually just automated to scare birds , so no need to worry xo

Beautiful finds! I loved the glazed stoneware bottle! If you want to get the "sick" off bottle you need to dip them it muriatic acid, it attacks calcium and lime build up. Such amazing pottery and patterns on the plates. I couldn't help but notice all those finds were in a true wild strawberry patch as well. the design on the glass jar I believe is either raspberry or blackberry plant. :) Awesome finds!
@scottishmudlarking Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Debra! I've seen you can tumble bottles in oil and metal pieces for a week to get the sick off and restore them to their former glory too :) Muriatic acid - I've only heard of that for cleaning shells , thank you! Yep lots of wild strawberries!! :)
@debrabrooks6138 Жыл бұрын
@@scottishmudlarking Yw, Actually Muriatic acid is also used to clean stones, fireplaces, as well as crystals and yep and seashells, also to clean swamp coolers in the desert.

I would have taken more as there was nice things there. Loved te stoneware with the shiney glaze, don't think I have seen one like that before and I liked the the Roses jam jar with the lemon and orange on evenb though they were both screw tops. The pendants you made were great Nicole you're such a clever girl. Stay safe and thanks for the adventure.

Thanks so much! We were so happy with that glazed stoneware bottle too - we hadn't seen one like it either :) Jam jars are always tempting, no matter how old... maybe because I am thinking about sitting at a table with the family and everyone tucking into the jam and talking to each other about their day...

I love that little treacle glazed stoneware jar. The item you thought might be a pen is very similar to an old propelling pencil which was in my great-uncle’s bureau. Have DMd you some pictures. Mine is a golden colour , maybe brass, and the little collars slide it out from both ends to its full extent. 😍

The joke with the 3-legged donkey - a wonkey! 14.50 looks like a grenade...and the next one(then Craig mentions gunfire)! Bird pendant for you to make and the birds above like the plan,.....The one side of the object if something is snapped off could have been an ink pen! The claypipe might be shinty(shame that wasn't whole - doesn't matter)! And after the finish, WTH load them up!
@scottishmudlarking Жыл бұрын
Wonkey donkey... Now, there's a band name waiting to be claimed!! :D We're hearing gunfire pretty regularly... someone just told us its a bird frightener! Works on humans too!! lol I think you're right about it being an old pen... its an odd, but very cool, find. haha! No! I promise, we left everything else, but, there was a wee bit of shenanigans going on with Nicole's maths! Thank you so much, best wishes, Nicole & Craig xo

I would have taken the small shard (sherd?) with the brown Pattern on white--- it is near the cafe au lait colored stoneware. I have that pattern on a piece of china that had been my great grandmother or my grandmother ( mid 1800's or late 1800's) here in the US. So for sentimental reasons only.🍵

Are you going to start selling trinket dishes full of slug trinkets? 😂 At 5:47 there is a round brown thing in the lower left part of the screen. There were times when I thought it was a glazed clay marble. Do you remember what it was? It couldn't possibly have been something cool l or I'm sure you would have mentioned it Nicole.

We only know of one person who regularly refills the holes they dig - we never dig, and are a wee bit wary of filling in a hole someone might come back to keep digging... that said, yes, they are potentially dangerous, especially when there are lots of broken glass in the bottom, and unsightly too.
