At 32 degrees I get a good view of C80 or Omega Centauri and I had my optics redone with 97% reflectivity and a refigure to near perfect. C80 cluster was visible to the naked eye at Bortle 2. It is now July 21 and it is low in the sky and will soon disappear until next May. It is even big in my binoculars.

Living in Tuncson, dry and clear sky till late july. Weather won't piss me off. I was hoping to see Omega centauri for so long. Gotta try this weekend. Thanks for the video!

when you have both astronomical dusk and being able to see a couple southern as well as northern objects from the equator, what ruins my photos is the bortle class 9 xd and a lack of a tracker. hopefully due to covid 19 we start having blackouts at night.

Hi Hunters! I’m glad you mentioned the blue horse head. I love that object. Funny how Scorpius has such a rich number of objects Clear skies

Yes the blue horse head is sooo nice!

I didn’t expect a cluster to be on either of your lists. That’s atypical but definitely cool. I think most folks trend towards nebula and it’s unfortunate that clusters don’t make it to many folks to-do list. That’s just my observation. Fun video. Clear skies.
@GalacticHunter4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! We have plenty of nebulae for other months so we wanted to make sure we included some clusters here and there too :)

Vishnu yeah haven’t seen a clear sky in weeks and now it’s worse due to the monsoon. Hoping for clear skies 🌌 Got lucky on the 8th and was able to image M3 for a bit.

I would have added M5 too :) I was impressed when I saw it for the first time this month. For me as beautiful as M13.

We haven't imaged or observed M5 yet but now we're curious haha

Was all excited for the Ngc 6334 then checked at 51 degrees north its literally scrapes along the horizon.
@GalacticHunter4 жыл бұрын
Yes that one we weren't sure to include but because we assume some of the viewers live in different latitudes we thought it would be good to have. For us in Vegas it's possible but would be difficult as well :/

What do you consider a fast telescope? And what is considered a dark site?
@humwhatever1854 жыл бұрын
I'd say f4 or lower, and bortle 4 or lower, but some people will tell you only f2 rasas are fast

There are a few other globular clusters in the northern hemisphere that are larger and brighter than M13 including M4, M5 and M22. They are all larger and have a higher apparent magnitude. Why M13 is often touted as being the largest and the brightest, I honestly can't answer.
@GalacticHunter4 жыл бұрын
Wow you are absolutely right! I'm speechless right now because we also always believed M13 was the brightest and largest in the northern hemisphere. Wow, we'll remember that, thank you!

I bought a telescope bundle from high point... in early May. It's a month later and the bundle hasn't caught up to the telescope. It's still in china. So how about suggesting some August targets because I seriously doubt I'll get the rest of my equipment in time for July. I'm starting to doubt that I will ever get my telescope accessories that I paid in full for. Apparently "IN STOCK" is a lie at high point scientific..

Oh that's a long wait :/ We'll have these guides for every month of the year so rest assured, you will know what to image :)
