Ya,green and blue and other colours will be a fast trend, like dusty rose and peach of years gone by. Classic white never goes out of fashion and always looks clean and fresh

White is good but blues are hot and white can be stale if not done correctly

The trend is do what you love and what makes you happy. White will always beat out these trendy colors in the long run. Not everyone has an unlimited budget to redo their cabinet’s to go with the trends but if you do more power to you. Stick with neutral colors and accent with the trendy colors in pottery and dishes and bring in elements of wood with cutting boards, new stools or chairs if you’re on a tight budget. If selling in the future appealing to the masses is best so if you’re thinking of selling down the road stick to neutrals.

You are so welcome, I share from a position of experience, especially with push to open anything. They are making some new glides that are a little bit better than the old mechanism inside of the door. I’m sure we’ll get better. What time but we’ll see.

White cabinets, but dark grey island with quartz countertops and a full natural stone backsplash along the whole area by the sink and stove. Tons of color in my decor (think fat of the dead golden yellow, hot pink, turquoise, green, purple, etc)… i love it and it’s SO me.

Yes if you’ve ever done much cleaning you know open shelving means you may have to at least rinse your dish before you are able to use it. What about the stray fly that comes through? And yes the obvious clutter.

I guess I was ahead of the curve because I never liked white kitchens. I went with espresso stained wood cabinets, which really pop with white quartz countertops.

@stephaniecrothers8482 We just installed it a week ago replacing granite, so it's new to us. So far, we like that we no longer have to worry about stains, which happened to the granite even when sealed. But because it's white, it shows every crumb. So, keeping it clean is a chore. We also worry we'll burn it, so we use trivets for anything hot touching it, even though the fabricator told us it'll handle up to 500 degrees. I don't trust that.

I agree be careful with anything high heat on quartz but other than that it’s a great material. We use it on a lot of projects

We have open shelves on one wall that holds art, cookbooks, pitchers and colorful platters for occasional use. Yes, we do dust and change items out or around but, we love them.

Many people have these great design features in their homes and I have installed them in many homes that we have done in recent years. There’s nothing wrong with them just on a hole. I see them heading out of the trend circle in 25.

Not only do I hate open shelves, but I hate glass doors as well. The kick stop lighting is rediculous. This is where dust and dirt collects most. Why would I want to highlight it?

I live in the desert and am building. I’m adding toe kick lights as scorpions 🦂 when they get in, travel along the baseboards. Thankfully it’s only 1-2/year, but that’s 1-2 too many.

I will have mid wood tone cabinets and jewel tone backsplash with white Corian countertops or recycled glass counters. Bring in the warmth and color. I was wowed by my white kitchen when we bought the house in 2019, but I hate it now. White cabinets and white backsplash require so much maintenance. They need to be cleaned every day with 2 kids, 3 dogs, and a husband. I'm okay cleaning white countertops because I'm clean them every day anyway. No more white kitchens! Also, I think open shelving is a terrible idea. A couple short shelves in a coffee bar is okay. But that is it.

#2- since when are dark, light less kitchens a trend?? Yes coloured kitchens look great, but how long before you get sick of them. And what happens if you have - what you think - is a gorgeous green kitchen, and your buyer hates the colour?? White is timeless.

Everything in kitchens and bathrooms is a trend. Basically every 8-12 years trends change. White is or off white is probably the closest to timeless but there are so many variables with styles, profiles, countertops, backsplash, etc., that are constantly going to be changing.

Ok how about some tips on baseboard heating. 1875 house water radiators. Taking out 1 radiator in kitchen to put in a sink. New radiator is $2600 so what about radiators

Well, being that we live down in Florida, I don’t have a lot of experience with radiators. I do know that they’re an Intercal part of so many homes and communities and there’s probably people better than me well-versed on what to do with replacing them or changing them out.

Electric Under floor heating! Best invention ever, especially in a kitchen with tile but it'll work great under LVP too!! Look it up! Not expensive to install.

Cooktops need real vents. An over-the stove microwave, if it vents at all, usually has a feeble fan. And it's dangerous to take out a boiling-hot dish at eye level.

Some homes don’t have the ability to vent out so your left with a recirculating option. There are some decent ones out there, but it’s still just a recirculating fan. Always best to vent out if possible.

My mother in law pushed us to do an all white kitchen, we pushed back and compromised on a hickory island with hickory accents throughout. What we don’t want is something sterile.
