Here's a look at my Kuhli Loaches and my Striped Raphael Catfish (Platydoras armatulus) in my 55 gallon Gourami Tank.

I seen tank loaches with Amano shrimp. They had 30 in there. They do school more and come out more too

Hey Dan, maybe you could get some hovering zebra loaches? They're not like zebra loaches, actually. They grow up to an inch and do look like they hover.

Your striped Raphael is from South America, he could go in the new world tank probably when you pull that other sucker fish from that tank you were talking about a few videos back.

Yeah, that the tank I'm thinking about, but I need to get the chubs and that suckerfish out first.

A new tank sounds like in the works. ...maybe. What kind of substrate do you use? Never tried kuli loaches.

I have this same tank with the loaches and the catfish! He’s getting really big I’m scared he’s going to eat them... will the catfish eat the loaches?

How big your Raphael catfish? I have one in a 55 gallon as well and was thinking about getting some loaches. But I was concerned on him eating them since they look like worms

Mine is about 8 inches and never bothers the loaches. He eats Neons though.

Not sure when this video was done, but it's about 7 years old now. It outgrew a 29 gallon tank in about 6 to 9 months.

I think you need to put him in the New World 125 G tank. He is a new world catfish. He'll find many places to hid in that drift wood.

Why are they supposed to be hard to keep? I've never had issues with them. They get pretty big, so I'd go with a 55 or bigger, but they aren't difficult to keep.

Yes, that's where I'm thinking about, but I'd have to make a few changes first.

I really like kuli loaches, they can be quite entertaining. I'd love to buy a couple but right now all I have is a 3.5 and a 2.5 gallon nano tank. I'm not sure what the minimum size needs to be. Gotta look it up. But yours are pretty cool. I hadn't seen that color before. 👍🐠🌾

If you add some catappa leaves as leaf litter on the right hand side of the tank you might not have to get more of them as they love to breed under leaf litter. With 5 of the m you are likrly to have at least one pair male and female among them.

You can use leaves of magnolia and oak IF you know no pesticides have been used on them, and you just boil the dried leaves for 15 minutes, drain and cool then add to the right side of the tank. Yes they will release tanins, but these are very benenficial.
