I read this book last year, actually. :D I liked it fairly well, although the constant death anxiety got repetitive after a while. There is some sound advice to be found in it though, although, like you, I disagreed with certain things. I think the most questionable thing he says is that, in essence, all evil is done through ignorance. Which I don't think is even remotely borne out in life. I totally agree with you though about philosophy; practical, down to earth stuff like this I think is far more rewarding than the more abstract stuff that's disconnected from any real experience. The Meditations might not be as "deep" as, say, Being and Time, but I can guarantee you it's given more to people than that book ever will. At this point I think it's kind of a waste of time to fret over how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.

You have seen something in those books you’re not telling people? You look like you seen a ghost .
