Try these exercises and let me know after a few days how far you've gotten! Can you get to 16 seconds or even 60?! ** Corrections: Beginning of last exercises its Ab G E G and not Ab G F G. 2. At the end for the last exercise, I only play B and not C like it's written, but you can play it :)

Your channel is very impressive! Your videos are so informative, but can you please do video/s about sightreading a flute musical sheet with all symbols (for example: buzzing symbols, glissando, etc.) I'm always struggling in playing flute not because of the flute itself, but because I'm not familiarize with all the symbols in a music sheet. Whenever I'm searching a video about it on the internet, always piano sheet sightreading tutorials are popping out. Many symbols that can be found in flute sheets are not in the piano sheets. Hope that you can help, thank you! BTW, your channel is great, don't stop informing flutists with your knowledge! Good luck!

7:28 if you listen to the note’s slight wavering quality, you’ll realize that it actually follows the rhythm of her heartbeat. As the heart pumps next to the lungs, it slightly changes the pressure on the lungs, which you can then hear as small wavering sounds in the pitch (almost like a form of vibrato). You only really tend to notice it on softer notes using gentle air, and it’s something I noticed while doing this exercise.

@syl kat You surely do well at working on your endurance! But l can tell you that one of the reasons why beginners run out of breath sooner, apart from having less endurance, is that a lot of the time they're still not very good at directing the air into the hole, so they "waste" air so to say and so they need more So that's one of the reasons why beginners have a hard time at playing longer phrases The support with the diaphragm is very important as well Playing flute is like singing rather than blowing out candles or cooling out a hot soup You breathe in, and lock/push the diaphragm (try to shout loud as if you needed to call someone far away if you don't know what it means, and notice what happens to your gut), so do that movement with your diaphragm, and then try to relax your throat and face Don't actively blow with your face/cheeks as if you were blowing out candles, but imagine you were singing, push the diaphragm and relax the upper airways while trying to direct the air into the hole
