Motegi MR140, 18x8.5 ET 33 clear the non carbon ceramic brakes. I have them on my 19" RS3. i went with 2 sets of them one with Continental 245/40/18 for summer and Blizzaks in a 235/40/18 for winter. So far they have been a great choice. I also blew out a tire on the stock 19's and instead of putting on the junk Pirelli's went with this option. It was a little more expensive for the full wheel option, but worth it in the long run. More comfortable and more options for tires if there is a failure.
@williammacguire2364 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I’m going to check out those wheels. I recently put four new Michelin snow tires on and I already have a screw in one of them. I might consider switching to a set of 18s, now knowing that they clear the carbon ceramic brakes. I love the idea of having two sets of wheels and tires so you can have the same look all year around.

The TTRS is an awesome car, I've owned one for several years now. I have a 2018 with all options. It ran an 11.64 @ 119mph at my local dragstrip completely stock. It's a few hundred pounds lighter than the RS3. I shopped a RS3 when I was looking for my TTRS. The interior quality of the TT is just much better than the A3 platform. That was one of the biggest selling points for the TTRS for me. It also looks like a baby R8 from the front. Just be prepared to lose some of the practicality of a four door sedan. The rear seats are unusable 911 style.
@williammacguire2364 Жыл бұрын
I think I’m sold on the TTRS. I love the interior of the rs3 and an even nicer interior in the TT sounds great. I think I can deal With 2 doors. I use the hatch more than the back doors. How accessible is the rear storage for daily use?
@k0unitX Жыл бұрын
@@williammacguire2364 I recommend removing the rear seats, then you have a 2 seater with a huge hatch. Not to mention you shave off 50~60lbs too

Agree about not being able to lower the infotainment screen. It’s an unnecessary distraction most of the time. I’m curious why you think a TT RS is an upgrade? Aside from the body style, which is a styling preference, the mechanicals are the same.
@williammacguire2364 Жыл бұрын
Upgrade is a loose term. I think the ttrs is slightly nicer inside, better wheel etc. and it’s slightly more of a sports car, with two doors. It could be consider lateral movement I guess.

Great video, great car! I have the 2019 RS3 and definitely agree with the infotainment system. Wish I could put it down while driving. To bad nobody has cracked the code yet on that one. Also, still rockin the stock wheels not a fan either. I like the new ‘22 RS3 stock 19" 5-Y-spoke wheels with matte black finish. Wonder how’d they look or if they’d fit 🤔
@williammacguire2364 Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I think the new y spoke wheels look great too, and I’ve actually thought about putting those on the car. I like the factory + look. I I can’t believe they haven’t cracked the code on the screen either. A friend of mine had a 2019, RS three, and his screen was obviously fixed in place, and that didn’t bother him until he got in my car and watched me put mine down. Then he was mad that his stayed up haha.

How has the car been in the winter, besides the roads? I'm from Michigan so bad roads are something I'm used to. I'm interested in getting an rs3 but would like to know how it does in the winter? Also if you want to do wheels id recommend Neuspeed wheels.
@williammacguire2364 Жыл бұрын
The RS3 is fantastic in the winter. The extra power is awesome and totally usable as long as you have a good set of snows. I just put on a set of Michelin Alpines and they grip quite well. One thing to make note of, is if you get the dynamic plus package with the carbon ceramic brakes, they do need a few minutes to warm up before they are working fully. If you hit a car wash in the winter, be prepared to roll through the first stop sign hahah. not literally, but they do have to be warmed up. I’ll check out the nuespeeds. Thanks for the recommendation!

You look a bit cramped driving that car. I had the opportunity to drive the c7 S6 for a while and honestly as a 6' 200lbs guy the sizing of that seemed great. I agree with you about steering and handling. The only thing I didn't like about the S6 was that it consumed more fuel than I wanted to buy. And so I now daily a c7 A6 TDI. Its perfect... except that its a bit laggy. 😅

Yea… it’s a touch small for me but it works. I am thinking of upgrading in the coming year to a 2 seater and I’ve been looking at alternative daily drivers. I think I’ll stay in the Audi line up, and might go for an S series car. I’m not sure if I need it that sport for a daily or if I should just go A series for daily and let the 2 seater be for sporting around and race car stuff. Thanks for the comment!

I have a stage 2 s3, and always have th rs3 in the back of my mind.. should I upgrade?
@williammacguire2364 Жыл бұрын
Power wise, your stage 2 s3 should be comparable to the rs3. However, the rs3 is the better car. It's a better starting platform, and since you like to mod, you can mod the rs3 really well. Iroz motorsports is running 800-1000awhp cars on the street all day, no issues. The 5 cylinder also sounds awesome. I recently sat in a 2018 rs5, with the twin turbo v6 and it sounded good, but not as good as the rs3, in my opinion. The rs3 is not that much of a price jump from the s3, and I think if you can comfortably afford it, you should do it.

No apology needed, friend. My car, and other cars in the US, have built-in radar systems that will show the distance to objects. For example, if you drive close to the parking curb, the car will beep, and a photo of your car will be shown on the screen displaying how near or far away from the object you may be. It is very basic, and I believe it utilizes the same system to control the auto-adjusting cruise control, and the start and stop feature for traffic.
