I really appreciate how slowly and in what detail you explain and show us what you are doing, very helpful. Although I did see the difference in the 2 sides of your face with respect to the highlighter, I still don't think I quite understand how to do it differently, I think maybe because that part of the face is so small, it must be even more subtle. Some feedback, if I may, is that - for me - your hair is so full and voluminous around your face that I find it makes it more difficult to see what you're doing or what the result is. Would it be possible for these kinds of up close and personal tutorials (which I love) to pull your hair back for the whole tutorial? Many thanks XO

Hi! I am 53 years young and am a true makeup enthusiast. My profession as a Registeted Nurse specializing in Hospice is quit serious and at times depressing. My love of makeup has given me another positive creative fun outlet... so I am now an amateur makeup artist in our little town... getting young girls ready for recitals... pageants and dances... which I love. I learn as much as I can from KZbin on current trends etc for ladies... let's say under 21. But what I need advice on is for myself... and women my age. I loved this video today!!! So very helpful! I could really tell a difference in the 2 sides. What I need help with personally... if you or any of your lovely subscribers would be willing to give suggestions I would be much obliged! As I said I am 53... and I have a lot of texture on my skin. It isn't lines and wrinkles it is from having acne from puberty that started around age 11 until I was in my late 20's. I need help finding the best foundation for covering acne scars on my cheeks... my worst area. Any tips or tricks? Best products? I also would love to wear an age appropriate soft highlight on top of my cheekbones but don't want to draw attention to any scars or texture. Would the highlighters you suggested today be okay for me too? Any help anybody could offer for someone with horrible skin like mine would be much appreciated. Love... light... peace... and blessings to all!! Jackie Rockey South Georgia USA

Hi DolliesDaughter! Wow it sounds like you have created a fun nice for yourself...I love it...Can I suggest that you mix a small amount of highlighter with some foundation and pat this mixture on your cheek bones...The look is slightly softer and will gently highlight but not bring attention to your textured skin...very subtle...Are you using a prescription vitamin A? ❤️

Hi my name is Tracey, I'm 55 and Australian. I haven't got great skin and use Mirenesse 10 COLLAGEN CUSHION COMPACT FOUNDATION, it's not cheap $66 AUS, but I find it great. It's a cream foundation and it comes with it's own sponge applicator, I think you can buy it in America, but it ships however it maybe too expensive but check it out. Loreal or Maybelline had one similar which I found great but they changed packaging and in the meantime I went to this Mirenesse, but I find creme foundations to be better.

Would you consider making a video for cream blush on a stick, or do you still put it on your fingers first? I live in a desert, and that dryness is very challenging for my skin. It was my understanding that cream blush and eyeshadow would be better in that situation. However, I have trouble controlling the cream blush. I dot some on, and then rub it in with my fingers. That makes it tend to go a bit wider of an area than I would like. Thank you for these tutorials. They are so helpful, and you have a lovely, supportive demeanor.

Hi Lovely Schellea. What a wonderful vid. This was so helpful. I was originally a trained makeup artist in the 80s, and helped my husband, as we had our own photography business, doing wedding and family portraiture. I’d do all the make up, but I was stuck in the 80s, if you know what I mean. I found this so helpful and precise, which is wonderful. One of my fave cheek colours which comes with highlighter and shade, is The Napoleon Perdis 3 in 1, which I feel has the perfect balance. I love your choices too. So subtle, like a healthy glow. Love it. Did you find that lippie I was telling you about? If not, I’ll send you one, next time I’m in Target . Sending sunshine to you xx🌸🌻🌞

I admire the way you look and the way you seem on video. I aspire to be just like you with looking forward to life and living instead of thinking of the past. I lost my brothers and mom at an early age and can’t get them off my mind. Are there any supplements you take that help with depression or menopause? It explains why you see much older women with the blush hanging low: I used to wonder, but now I see they've probably been taught to 'smile' before applying. This is a very good explanation! Do you have a video on how best to apply bronzer for mature ladies? I am probably not doing a good job of this!!! Thank you.

Strobing stick or master chrome ? Which maybelline product did you use to highlite? You didnt say but I’d love to try the one thats not glittery. Loved the video! Im going to try the revlon contour as well. I always thought you use a bronzer for that. So happy to learn and you are a wonderful teacher 👍👍

Once again you nailed it. Some great tips there. . I love the maybelline highlighter. It's so soft and silky very affordable as well. I cannot afford Charlotte Tilbury. Sadly. But there are still great affordable products out there. One trick im sure you have up your sleeve is how to conceal darkness under the eyes. All of my relatives and girls have it. Even though we drink lots of water and eat well. I've tried so many things but nothing works. Plus with the hot flushes my makeup seems to slide off. Especially in this Queensland heat. Any tips there on how to set it without to much powder? I had to laugh because even the bad side you did you still looked 40. . It's amazing. I know you did a great tutorial on eyeshadow but i cannot do it. My eyes are quiet hooded. So any tips would be greatly appreciated. Great information there. Yet again you look stunning and flawless and I love the dress. 😘

I think a lot of the drugstore brands are even better than the expensive ones. I love Maybelline - always good products from them! 🍰💕Maria

@@ArtsyCupcake absolutely. I do love maybelline. There's a loreal mascara I brought the other day half price at the pharmacy and its the best mascara ive ever brought. It makes your lashes so long.

Use a primer first, then do all your makeup and set it with a good setting spray! Will work right through the hot flashes !!!

@@StungbySamantha thank you so much. I struggle with them badly. But mostly through the day. Even in air con I still have them. Horrid things.

Not sure which shade to use light or fair for the Charlotte tilsbury highlight. Which are you using as my skin coloring is light like yours.

Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you!!!! I’m not a huge makeup person but as I’ve gotten older whatever I was doing before is no longer working. Going to the makeup counter or following tips online has made me more frustrated as I end up looking like a clown. After watching a few of your videos and practicing a bit , It looks like a few years were shaved off my face. Thank you for making it easy to follow and having a contrasting side to demonstrate the result of bad application.And... Thank you for sharing your beauty and product secrets!!!

I’m petite and come with a petite face too if I leave too much space to apply my blush away from nose it’ll end up on my hair. Lol! I need a bigger face to try this method. Or use only a fingers length or less away from nose. We are small people.

Thank you for this video! I feel that using a foundation ages me. Ewwww! Therefore, I do wear a chemical free TINT for my sensitive skin and I am serious about my skin care regimen. I agree with your tips! No matte foundation @ 50+ and applying a blush on top of the check bone is best. Because I have an little oval face with high check bones, I don't feel comfortable using blush. I recently purchased a blush/highlighter/bronzer combo from Clinique, but I will be returning it because it caused me breakouts. It is NOT as clean, as I hoped for. Perhaps I need to get the proper natural blush color. I am no longer a spring chickee FROM THE 80's, so I can no longer get away with wearing fun colors! Less is more today, at my age!

Oh I thank you so much for this video. First of all ,your mother is gorgeous. I just lost my mother unexpectedly about a week ago and when I look at pictures of her, because I am 53, I see how absolutely stunningly gorgeous women from that era were. So I have a 20-year-old daughter as well as a 16-year-old daughter who use Highlighter all over the place -one day I decided that I would put it above my eyebrows down the center of my nose and basically every place that they were because it looks so gorgeous on them. When I looked in the mirror I almost fell over it was horrible. It aged me so bad that I’ve never picked up highlighter Again. I do haveNARS brand cream blush that I love -I watch your videos but the problem that I have with blush is that I do have some spots on my cheeks red spots and a few brown spots when I go to that area and apply any color products it seems to bring out the Redness in my face even worse. Is there a video that you have done that addresses This type of problem? Applying color to cheekbones that already have discoloration or perhaps a product that you can suggest? I think that your tutorials are probably the best I’ve seen for women who have mature skin. Things were much simpler when I was younger LOL again much appreciation for all the time and effort that you put in to all of your videos. Just hearing your little theme song at the beginning of your videos cheers me up and makes me ready to take in whatever it is that you’re getting ready to teach❤️❤️

Hi Tracy M! I am so sorry to hear about your Mums passing...It such such a surreal feeling and for me, I didn't quiet know how to be without her? I would recommend using a softer color blush that doesn't have too much pigment...this will create a soft look and if you apply a concealer on top of your spots and under blush, you will get a natural look...I am speaking to a makeup artist soon and I will ask this question as she may have some different tips to add...Im sending you a hug to get through the next few weeks ❤
