@lozzii191715 күн бұрын
Wooden boards are just as bad harbouring dirt grime and bacteria same with cloths and sponges once week all cloths were steeped in bucket of boiling hot water first with fairy liquid then disinfectant. Best boards to use is tempered safety glass boards or specially treated wooden boards Growing up my late mum only used bunker if cutting Meats and poultry used extra large plate I can even remember her using glass milkbottle washed out after milk or orange juice was used as rolling pin. This 5 minuet Hacks are nothing more than click bait and shocking waste of food Best person that knows all TRUE Hacks is out Elders learn from them not perfetic useless skits like 5minuet crafts and other click bait programmes reason so many many KZbinrs like Rosanne is Exposing there lies a well as telling wot most of us no are loads of cuts and edits Ann reardon Australian food scientist just did similar video Exposing where cuts and edits were as well as how dangerous some these clips are another Philip Green KZbinr has done few these videos all it takes is simple common sense and learning from our Ancestors especially our Elders ie mother and grandmother that's how we learnt to cook but if like me as oneself gets older gets me scatter brained keep small note book of everything you did and ask Stages you did it not just Cooking but Arts and crafts or gardening etc etc including whoopsie Daisy ie it went wrong but could be salvageable this is how we learned by our mistakes try try try again eventuality it will work out in end

SO MANY of those knife hacks feel like "nervous/scared to work with knives? Here's how to feel better (but actually make it even EASIER to injure yourself)!", and I get it, sharp things can be scary, but you'd be better off getting a sharp knife (dull knives aren't safer, don't make that mistake) and a stable cutting board (board sliding around when you cut? put it on top of a damp towel, boom! stable as heck) and just going slowly and paying close attention as you go (know where your fingers are, know where the knife will go down, make sure they never meet; if you pay attention to that and go slow that's fewer injuries while you practice and build your confidence cutting things). Heck, maybe there's local cooking classes or something that can help teach you technique if you never learned how to work with one.

I use a silicone muffin pan to freeze measured "pucks" of stuff, like quarter cups of half and half for cooking or scoops of beans. I have to get creative cooking for one. When stuff is frozen you pop it out and put it in a labeled bag in the freezer. I even do that with food for my pets- I have some that eat veggies and making a mix then freezing it is so useful.
@allih80213 ай бұрын
I do this too! I have a couple of silicone "trays" that are specifically for this that are 1/2 cup size and 1 cup size. Makes saving leftovers or meal prep components (like stock) so easy - and I love that they are individually portioned. It's so awesome!

Some cans don't work very well with the cutting the bottom off the top. If you have one that the bottom looks the same as the top of the can (the way it is sealed) then it is a good one to try it with. It is super helpful for super thick food items like refried beans.

Most of these were ridiculous, besides that mug pizza, which looks delicious. I feel like you've have fun making "pita pizzas": - You just get some store-bought pita breads. (Yes fancier pita is probably better, but this is a cheap recipe, not an extravagant one.) - Some pizza sauce (store bought works, but you're a chef, you can probably make your own) - Whatever cheese you want to use, shredded or sliced if you have to. (I prefer Muenster, most people prefer Mozzarella, but it also works with any cheese, even non-dairy melty-cheese-like products) - And an array of standard pizza toppings. (meats should be pre-cooked, for safety... I'm usually content with chicken, mushroom, and olives, but you can put anything out you think your guests would want) - Grab a pita, don't open it, just leave it as is. - Put how much sauce you want on it. Leaving some pita to crisp into a crust. - Put how much cheese you want, - and pick and choose what toppings to put on there too. (gets harder to get right, anywhere past 3 toppings, but it can work) - Then pop it in an oven (300-375 degrees, not an exact science, if the cheese is melty, it's probably fine), a toaster oven (don't own one, you'll have to figure it out yourself), or even a microwave (still don't own one, but also wouldn't really recommend), - and cook it until the cheese gets melty. - serve up and Enjoy. Careful sometimes it needs to cool just a little. Very customizable, easy to let people pick out their own pizzas instead of as a group, and kind of fun too. I've made them at random kids parties, teenager's graduation parties, big sports-game home gatherings, and even just some older friends that consider themselves foodies, and wanna have some fun messing around with their food too.

I’m sort of surprised that the onion thing didn’t work, I’ve seen the hack where you take two mixing bowls and you put a bunch of garlic where you’ve chopped off the stem and you throw it in there and then you shake that around, and while the peels don’t just pop off,your hands get less dirty, and it does seem to help a lot. It’s not perfect or magic, but it definitely loosens them and makes it far easier. You do end up with two mixing bowls to clean, but it does seem better.

So when I get asparagus at the store, it comes with rubber bands on the top and bottom, so basically I just move the bottom rubber band to where I would cut the bottom off, and then cut just above the rubber band, the bottom bits stay together, I then drop the bundle into the trash after taking off the rubber band and saving it.

22:00 -- here in Québec, we have a drink called « Le cidre de glace » (Iced Hard Apple Cider). It's a hard cider made it from apples that froze during the winter. The freezing makes the juice very sweet and smooth (as you tasted here), so it's really only served like a dessert wine in small cordial cups. It's super good, but I usually only drink one or two cordial cups at most because it's so sweet.

Hi Ro, and Sweeties, - Again 5 minute craps and I love that you debunk them! - I roll the hard boiled eggs (because I boil atleast 4 eggs at ones) first, like you did, and than place those cracked eggs in cold water, place the bowl with eggs & water in the fridge for a little while. Than I peel the eggs under water, works very well for me! - I use glass cutting boards, never wooden ones. I do not like wooden cutting boards! - It is best, for the taste, to tear the lettuce instead of slicing or cutting it, Sweeties & Ro!! Love from an old rebel-Pinkie

Ro, are you /sure that was just oregano? 😉😂 I love you.☺️♥️ I really don’t like the can/tomato sauce/paste hack because animals already get stuck in things like cans and jars, cups, etc. and it’s dangerous. Get a tiny spatula. I love mine and they don’t cost much. Just be sure it’s heat-safe in case you ever want to use it for something hot. You can use a grater for de-stemming herbs! That might work if you use whatever holes that fit the stems. Flat graters might be easier. 🤷♀️
