Great for online school too. Been using it for many years. I always turn off the music (annoying). You can search for kahoots that others have created and duplicate it and edit it. Can also allow others to play asynchronous over a chosen number of days, but cannot do a live game at the same time. You must create a separate game to do that.

Kahoot is not a game and sorry not sorry, it is deleterious to learning. At best, Kahoot is a timed quiz match built around an inherently flawed educational psychology. No wonder the company loses so much money each year. So, what’s wrong with Kahoot? Think about it... Students who know the content will experience eustresses (enjoyment) by winning the matches. Students who don’t know the content will suffer stress (anti-enjoyment) because they will be losers. Students that already know the content are made to feel smarter and superior to the losers. Losers will dislike playing Kahoot; switch off emotionally, and learn nothing from the experience. In an effort to fix this fatal flaw in Kahoot’s underlying psychology, caring teachers will dumb down the quiz questions to the point that almost everyone has a reasonable chance of getting correct responses and having fun. Once again, academia is channeled toward promoting fun and inclusive experiences rather than promoting actual learning experiences that engage each learner at their optimal level for inculcating new information. Once the questions in a Kahoot quiz has been reduced to a level that it no longer provides any significant amount of unknown new content, the quiz can no longer be considered an aid to learning. At best it can be considered an aid to reviewing what has already been learnt. Repetition of previously learnt content to build memory retention is not learning; it is memory enhancement. Actual learning is accomplished by meeting new content in a context that encourages making correct associations between unknown semantic items (sounds, smells, feelings, tastes, sights, words, phrases) and already known semantic items. Humans over the age of 4 learn by recognizing and self correcting their semantic association errors. The more errors they can recognize and correct in a stress-free, emotionally satisfying process, the faster they can learn. But who actually cares, right? Go ahead, enjoy entertaining your students with Kahoot! It’s got electrolytes!
