Unfortunately, every bad encounter between cat and young children is the cat's fault and the cat get reprimanded. Who is at fault??? The parent who thinks it's funny while placing their child in danger. I love my cats but will not allow them to be around small children.

There is no danger. Cats don't scratch the kids. They just slap them. Cats are incredibly patient and will tolerate a lot from people they live with. But some of these parents definitely need to teach their children to be gentle with the cats.

@@Beeti1 My cats would NEVER hurt anyone. Whenever we play with them, they automatically keep their claws in. If the parents know the cats are safe and have never hurt anyone, its not putting their child in danger. I never 'taught' my cats to be gentle with everyone either. They just are gentle since we treat them correctly.
